Rant: Metal Gear Online griefers are not your ordinary griefers

There are griefers, and there are Metal Gear Online griefers. The run-of-the-mill griefers do what they do because it’s actually rather fun in a sick, zit-popping, puppy-kicking kind of way. MGO griefers, on the other hand, are a new breed of dolts.
New MGO videos show how gameplay is like
Enjoying your access to the Metal Gear Online beta? I hope you are because the best we other mere mortals can do is drool at the sight of MGO videos. I’ve got a couple of new ones today. Watch them and be reminded of how excruciating it is to wait for June 12, the game’s release date.
Snubbed by Konami, left out in MGO beta

Yes, you read right. I’ve tried to get in the Metal Gear Online beta, but no dice. I signed up at the game’s beta version webpage several times (using different personas) and received emails saying I didn’t qualify for the MGO beta’s “download promotion.”
The emails never did say why I didn’t qualify. I do understand that there are a limited number of Unique Product Voucher Codes, but I really would appreciate it if there was an explanation that came with the emails.
If Konami ran out of codes to give away, I would appreciate the truth even if I wasn’t able to get any. If Konami just didn’t want me in because my geographical location would strain their servers too much, I would still appreciate it if they’ve told me. All this cloak and dagger isn’t making me feel better even if there seems to be a good explanation for it.
Did you get in the beta?

MGS4 is coming out on June 12
Here’s great news, courtesy of Spencer at Siliconera. Metal Gear Solid 4 would be released simultaneously worldwide on June 12. “But Mike, we already know that,” you say.
Think again. News sources (like GameSpot) merely announced that the game is coming in mid-June, but thanks to Siliconera, we now know that Konami is planning a simultaneous worldwide release.
See more details after the jump.
