Berkman is clutch both on and off the field

Since 2001, Houston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman has been leading a charity called “Berkman’s Bunch.” It’s a chance for 50 kids to meet Berkman before each Saturday home game. Berkman takes time out of his normal routine on Saturday’s to sign autographs, answer questions and hand out other gifts to underprivileged youth in the Houston area.
Partnered with Methodist Health, Berkman’s charity has been going strong for eight seasons. The kids for each Saturday home game are chosen by Berkman and Methodist. The chosen kids are members of various organizations, including Boys & Girls Country, TOMAGWA, …read more
