Phelps Rebounds With World Record

A day after sulking like a baby in the pool over coming in second place in the 200m men’s freestyle, Michael Phelps, set a new world record in the 200-metre butterfly at the Fina World Swimming Championships in Rome today.  This is Phelps’ 34th which surpasses Mark Spitz’ accomplishment by one world record.
How fast was he going?  Phelps did the butterfly in 1:51.51 seconds, which eclipses his gold medal-winning time of 1:52.03 at the Beijing Olympics.  He did this without wearing one of those full body swimsuits (he felt like the one he brought was too tight) and without …read more

Michael Phelps’ First Major Loss in 4 Years

If the pictures are any indication, Michael Phelps, has suffered a huge shock – he lost at a major swimming event for the first time in four years and he’s not happy.  In fact, he looks downright pissed.  Phelps had to bask in all his silver medal goodness while he watched Germany’s Paul Biedermann drape himself with the lame rope and then accept the top prize.
