Though it’s only Thursday and a lot of things can change, there are a lot of injuries around the NFL that have fans (and fantasy football owners) concerned. In Philadelphia, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and DeSean Jackson sat out practice on Thursday.
It appears McNabb, who suffered a broken rib in Week 1, will sit out this weekend making way for Michael Vick to play on Sunday. Westbrook is working through an ankle injury, while Jackson has a sore groin. While the Eagles won against the Jacksonville Jags in preseason, McNabb said the team needed to focus on the basics and get back to playing it is used to playing. Cleo Lemon, the 29-year-old quarterback who has played with the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars, is expected to soon sign with the New England Patriots. Lemon will give the Patriots depth behind Tom Brady at quarterback.
Lemon’s best season came in 2007 while with the Dolphins. In nine games, he completed 173 of 309 passes for 1,773 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for four touchdowns during that season. Last year, he threw only two passes for the Jaguars.
