A lot of PR bull hype is currently surrounding Call of Duty: World at War. Since it’s not being developed by Call of Duty creator Infinity Ward, there’s doubt regarding the upcoming FPS’s quality. It’s not helping that Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps got an IOU card instead of an advanced copy, so we should take every bit of news with a grain of salt.

Remember the advanced copy of Call of Duty: World at War that über Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps received during his interview with the CBS Early Show? It looks like Phelps finally got a date as to when he’ll receive a working copy of the FPS. According to GameSpot, World at War is arriving on November 11 for the PC, PS2, PS3, DS, and Wii

We all know Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps won a whopping eight gold medals in Beijing. What we don’t know is that Phelps is the first person on the planet to own a copy of Call of Duty: World at War for the PlayStation 3. During an interview with the CBS Early Show, the now-legendary swimmer was handed a copy of the FPS in question.
