We all know how atrocious the job market is right now with national unemployment at a 25-year high. In June 2009, the rate was 9.5 percent compared to 5.6 percent in June 2008. That increase is astounding and the teen summer job climate is said to be the worst its been in 60 years.
The Employment Policies Institute (EPI) aims to capture the attention of policy makers with their “Countdown to Job Loss” ad campaign. The print and online effort is asking lawmakers to put the upcoming minimum wage increase on hold.
