Tsk tsk. I hope these Vikings players have the ability to take the collection need for speed and make it work on the field. Where it counts.
What’s next? Favre doing 100 in a school zone?
For now, I leave you all with this video, courtesy of Sammy Hagar. Here’s to you, Vikings players, here’s to you:

Favre and the Vikings got off to a fast start. After Favre connected with Percy Harvin on a 51-yard touchdown two minutes into the second quarter, the Vikings had a 24-3 lead. Aaron Rogers and the Packers battled back but Favre was just too good on this afternoon.

Rogers, who became the new quarterback in Green Bay after Favre was allowed to leave, wasn’t bad himself. He had 287 yards passing and three touchdowns. Rogers also rushed for 52 yards on five carries.

With the win, the Vikings improved to 7-1. The Packers dropped to 4-3 with the loss.

5. Denver Broncos
Even though the Broncos are 5-0, does anyone truly believe that this team is a Super Bowl contender? Many experts aren’t even believing that Denver will make the playoffs. I guess we’ll see.

4. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have won each of their five games. While nothing is too wrong with their squad, Brett Favre remains a question mark. Can he survive the entire 17 week NFL schedule?

3. New Orleans Saints
When it comes to an explosive offense, the Saints are at the top of the list. And though their defense is obviously improved, is it improved enough?

2. Indianapolis Colts
Peyton Manning has been fantastic. He has easily been the best player in the NFL this season. That said, he’ll need some help to win it all. His supporting cast isn’t somewhat questionable.

1. New York Giants
The Giants just look like a winner. They are tough on the road, they execute well and they are proven. As long as Eli Manning stays healthy, this team will be difficult to beat.

Although the Broncos are 4-0, it’s difficult to believe they are for real. Their offense appears to be a lot less potent than last year. Defensively, they have been very good — but will it last?

Brett Favre had an outing to remember on Monday Night Football. The Vikings look like legit Super Bowl contenders. However, whether Favre can last a complete season playing at a high level is unknown.

3. New Orleans Saints
The Saints have the most explosive offense in the NFL. Their defense isn’t great but it is much improved from the last few seasons. At their best, the Saints are very hard to beat.

2. Indianapolis Colts
Peyton Manning seems to have regained his spot as the best quarterback in the NFL. Last season, he dealt with a knee injury for much of the season. This year, Manning has turned back the clock.

1. New York Giants
With a hard hitting defense and an offense that always seems to make the big play, the Giants look like the best team in the NFL. If Eli Manning can stay healthy and Steve Smith can become a legit star receiver, another Super Bowl championship could be in the cards.

2. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens were doubted a bit coming into the season but they appear legit once again. If they keep playing this way, the playoffs are well within reach.

3. Atlanta Falcons
The upstart Falcons keep proving themselves. Tony Gonzalez has been a great fit so far and the defense has shown some glimpses. Watch out for Atlanta.

4. Indianapolis Colts
The Week 2 victory wasn’t pretty but the Colts are now 2-0. Peyton Manning remains a force and once the defense gets back Bob Sanders, they could turn it around quickly.

5. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have won both of their games and they look strong. However, Brett Favre hasn’t been tested yet. We’ll wait for a test before moving Minnesota any higher.

Although their running game needs some work, the Steelers looked strong in Week 1 and should be considered the favorites for the time being.

If Adrian Peterson can keep running like he did in Week 1 and Brett Favre plays smart, this squad has very high potential.

We knew this day would come, didn’t we? While I think Jackson is a talented guy, with four quarterbacks on the team (thank you Brett Favre), one of them had to go.

And for once, this really can’t be blamed on Favre.
Jackson has at least played 20 games in the last three years, so his chances of getting picked up are good. I’m not sure I [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

Even though the Vikings have their final preseason game tomorrow night, it looks like they have put the feelers out to see what a Tarvaris Jackson trade might net them.

I’m not sure I would have made this decision, as I would have opted to hold to Jackson and trade either Sage Rosenfels and John David Booty. I think Jackson is a talented guy who will be snapped up. His time in this league is not over, but he was never a good fit for Minnesota.

In those eight plays, Favre looked every bit of a quarterback who hasn’t gone through training camp. He completed only one of his four throws for a total of four yards. A couple of his throws were completed off target.

But, considering it was a preseason game, Vikings fans didn’t seem to care. Besides, their team was able to beat the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 17-13.

Ironically enough, the star player for the Vikings was Tarvaris Jackson. It is Jackson who might be traded or released now that Favre has decided to go to Minnesota. In the game, Jackson was 12-for-15 for 202 yards and two touchdown passes.

The Vikings play their fourth preseason game on August 31st against the Houston Texans. On September 4th, the Vikings play their fifth and final preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The defensive end had been practices with the Vikings during the last few months. He even participated at minicamp. But, unfortunately, the damage to his body brought on by the leukemia treatment was too much to overcome.

Said Udeze in a statement: “… I have decided to retire due to certain side effects from my pre-transplant treatment. I would like to thank the Wilf family and the Minnesota Vikings organization for their support. I would also like to thank my fans, friends and family for supporting me through everything. Last but not least, I would like to thank all of the medical professionals and staff in Minnesota who worked tirelessly to give me a second chance at life. God bless.”

Udeze entered the NFL in 2004 with the Vikings. In his four-year career, he totaled 117 tackles, 11 sacks and two forced fumbles.

New England Patriots
Bill Belichick is one coach who doesn’t have to worry about his job. Also consider that Belichick likes players who can play multiple positions. Could Vick have Randy Moss type success with the Patriots?

San Francisco 49ers
The Niners are arguably the most desperate team in the league when it comes to the quarterback position. If Vick is serious about playing — and playing quickly — the Niners make a lot of sense.

Oakland Raiders
Doesn’t this situation just scream Al Davis. The only reason why Davis might not want Vick is due to the presence of JaMarcus Russell — a current Al Davis favorite.

Minnesota Vikings
Now that the Vikings have officially (well, as official as anything can be with the person at hand) lost their bid to woo Brett Favre out of retirement, Vick’s name will undoubtedly come up in Minnesota.
