No More Booze at Minnesota?

Earlier this month, Minnesota announced that may ban alcohol at all college sporting events. I can just guess how well that went over for students, but how do you guys feel about it?
Some thoughts I have:

Having alcohol at the games at Penn State isn’t dangerous, so I can’t see how it would be at Minnesota. The people who get so drunk they can’t see are typically students who walk home, and the drivers are responsible most of the time. There will always be incidents, but not enough to ban alcohol.

In pursuit of an Olympic Dream

Liz Podominick left the Minnesota women’s basketball program to pursue a spot on the U.S. Olympic track and field team. She is the fourth player that the team has lost in two weeks.
Podominick is a sophomore on the university’s track and field squad. She hopes to get in the U.S. Olympic Team and compete in the upcoming 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
In track and field, Podominick was the first freshman in Big Ten Conference history to win both the outdoor shot put and discus titles in her rookie season. She was named Big Ten freshman of the year and went …read more
