So this video shows you how to make a staple of the mixed drinks: the Mai Tai.
The ingredients are listed in the video so I won’t list them here but all are things that you should have on hand if you are going to be making any basic mixed drinks.
One thing that I found just a bit hilarious was the guy at the end, all big and bad with his tattoos, drinking a “girl” drink. LOVE it!

Home bars are kind of a lovely thing. You don’t even know the things you’ll come up with after stocking yours. For example, my new favourite drink came about because I made lemonade. Real lemonade, with the juice of 6 lemons, splenda to taste and about 2 L of water. Trying that out with some Midori Melon Liqueur was an unexpected, yet brilliant, twist. It’s surprisingly green, and surprisingly good.

The New York Times calls this tome “the drink mixer’s bible”, and I can’t say I disagree. American Bar, The Artistry of Mixing Drinks by Charles Schumann is an essential if you’re into cocktails at all.
Schumann leads the reader through the art of mixing masterful cockails, and according to the publisher, American Bar is the most authoritative cocktail book ever published. The book provides all the information the cocktail lover or professional bartender needs to serve up the perfect drink.

Oh, the Shirley Temple. It’s a classic drink for the under 12 set…but what do you do when you’re old enough to have a cosmopolitan instead but still have a hankering for a maraschino cherry?
