It is not surprise that MMORPG such as the popular World of Warcraft (WoW) can be used as a teaching tool in schools. Lucas Gillespie of EduRealms has started a wiki called WoWinSchool to help teachers in implementing WoW to their teaching.
The primary focus of this project is to develop a curriculum for an after school program or “club” for at-risk students at the middle and/or high school level. This program would use the game, World of Warcraft, as a focal point for exploring Writing/Literacy, Mathematics, Digital Citizenship, Online Safety, and would have numerous projects/lessons intended to develop 21st-Century …read more
LianYu Online, Blood Sucking China MMORPG

With the Twilight phenomenon sweeping across the globe, we can see vampires appear almost anywhere around the world. It is not a surprise that the class of vampires is introduced in a new China’s MMORPG called Lianyu Online (炼狱OL), loosely translated to Purgatory Online.
Players got to choose from classes such as vampires, fallen angels, elves, fighters and more. Just like World of Warcraft, quests, roleplay and PvP elements are evident in Lianyu Online.
I wonder if the vampires possess money-sucking blood-sucking ability.

Luna Online is a free-for-all fantasy MMORPG, currently in open-beta, boasts many jobs, unique social systems such as the Match Making System that pairs up people to become the perfect couple and user communities. However, the main attraction of the game is its cuteness.
The latest spokesgirls for Luna Online Chinese version is Taiwan own super 3-girl group S.H.E. Over 500 000 voters have participated to choose the best representatives for Luna Online and S.H.E won ultimately.

Final Fantasy XIV So, So Pretty

Final Fantasy XIII [13] isn’t even out yet and here we have the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV [14] Online. The teaser site for this sweet looking MMORPG is now live and includes screenshots, the trailer and a place for you to register for the mailing list.
The game will be available on PC and PS3 with the possibility of Final Fantasy XIV coming to Xbox 360 not being ruled out. So much for PS3 exclusivity. Regardless, the screens look absolutely breathtaking and I figure that FFXIV will appeal to a broader audience than most MMORPGs.
Look for FFXIV in 2010.

NCSoft says MMO Tabula Rasa free for now
At some point last week, NCSoft posted that Tabula Rasa shall now be free! Free like coupons you get in the mail every Wednesday that you eventually throw away, because you don’t need a new garage door replacement every week! And not only that, you can download the game client for free as well! So, you got monthly subscriptions being free. You’ve got game clients being free. That’s a lot of freedom.
Now, the downside to all this freeness is that you have to wear your underpants at all times while playing this game. Okay, that’s not the real …read more
Angels Online – An interview with my brother
My brother, Josh, is a weird guy. Why? Because he likes to do weird things like feed baby raccoons out of his mouth. I’m not sure why he likes to do that, but let’s just say that he’s eccentric. He also plays a lot of video games. And I do mean A LOT. Personally, I find it hard to start a new game, because I’m afraid I’ll have to learn something new. Josh, however, likes to start a new game just about every weekend just to see what he might be missing.
Well, apparently over the …read more
Pirates of the Burning Sea Shuts Down Servers
Well, now this is some sad, sad news. That new MMO, Pirates of the Burning World that has recently spread through out the world… well, actually didn’t spread much at all. Surprisingly, there aren’t that many people out there that want to be pirates, which is super weird, because… who doesn’t want to be a pirate?
Yes, according to this post over at Kotaku, 7 out of the 11 Pirates of the Burning World servers have shut down, because there aren’t enough people playing!
I wonder if Flying Lab Software, the publisher of the game actually thought they …read more
New Tabula Rasa video!
Well it’s been awhile since I’ve talked about one of my favorite video game creators Richard Garriott and his sweet new look MMO, Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa. It would seem as though the game got some new races? At least I think that’s what has happened since there is a new trailer over at GameTrailers showing just that… the creation of three new races known as the Hybrids.
Take a look:
My only question is… why couldn’t you make them look prettier? Why do they have to be all scared up, with pointy teeth that would rip a human’s …read more
Tabula Rasa Launch Trailer
As many of you know, I’m a fan of Richard Garriott, the guy who created the Ultima series… So it’s no surprise when I want to show what other works that Garriott has been involved with. And if that game he’s involved with just happens to be a MMO, well, all the better then, right?
Richard Garriott’s new game, Tabula Rasa is to be released today, November 2nd. As we all know that when we see a new release of what is suppose to be a big ol’ fancy game, we see cinematic trailers! It would seem …read more
