Hulu has been covered at a variety of angles by b5media’s authors and on EveryJoe. I first wrote about it back in December of last year when it was in private beta release.

Hulu is now public and they’ve had some mainstream commercials about their service being aired since the SuperBowl. They’ve also recently released a stand-alone desktop application for you to get all the great content from Hulu onto your computer screen without the need for your browser to be open and screen real-estate to be lost to browser controls.

The video quality is outstanding on my laptop. I could easily watch probably hours of TV shows like this. Most of the shows have commercial interruptions but that’s fine with me. I understand that’s the price you pay for free TV.

There’s so much content available on Hulu from recent shows to old stuff like one of my favorite shows as a kid A-Team. The search function could be a little bit better about finding the actual show you’re looking for, but I understand when they try to find close matches.

Hulu Releases Desktop App

Well, well. All I have to say is it’s about time. Oh, what is it about time about? Well, I’ll tell you. According to Adventure Gamers, there will be an adventure game made into a movie! Which adventure game, you ask? The adventure game is pretty popular. You may have even heard of it. It’s called Broken Sword.

The name of the company producing the film is called CastleBright and you may read more about them here. Oh, and look, there’s even more information about the movie over at ComingSoon.Net. Here’s a little quote from ComingSoon regarding the movie:

Beginning with “The Shadow of the Templars” (released the U.S. as “The Circle of Blood”), films will follow the adventurous duo of George Stobbart and Nico Collard as they battle evil forces across the globe for ancient relics of power.

So, there will be at least one movie based on the series of three. Adventure Gamer points out that there might just be more movies after this one, because there are several games in the series, so if the first one is awesome, we can only hope for more awesomeness…ness.

I guess there are other movies that have adventure game themes. I mean, Indiana Jones, after all, has many adventure games that follow under his realm. But that isn’t the same, you know? I mean, the adventure game was made after the first movie came out, so it’s not really a movie about an adventure game. It’s an adventure game made after a movie. And some would argue that Pirates of the Caribbean (which comes out today… yeehaw!) is some what Monkey Island like. But maybe Monkey Island was based off Pirates of the Caribbean, which was first a book? Naaaah. That’s a stretch. Broken Sword the movie is pretty exciting any way you think about it, though.

An Adventure Game that Goes to the Movies?

As many of you know, I am a fan of pirates. I mean, just look at my logo. There is a pirate hat on it. You can’t get much better than a pirate hat on a logo. To me, that is… perfection. A pirated hat logo. Yes. Personally, I think pirates are way cooler than ninjas. Yes, ninjas are lithe and nimble and silently moving. Hell, I used to own ninja stars that I would throw at trees and perhaps my brothers. Don’t worry, I didn’t kill them or anything. That’s the thing about ninjas… unless you’ve practiced with their tools of the trade for years and years, you’d never be able to kill anyone. With pirates, however, you give them a cutlass and some rum and just wait for the death and destruction. There is no sneaking. There is no being nimble. There is no honor. Just destruction. Pirates really are more my style.

Why do I like pirates so much, you ask? Well, because of the Monkey Island series. It’s as simple as that. Ever since I first laid mine eyes on Guybrush Threepwood, I feel in love with pirates. Blame that game on this insane entry, my friends, because seriously… it’s their fault.

Because I am a fan of pirates, it would be logical that I would also be a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean and I do. Why is this relevant? Well, because the next movie is coming out May 25th and with that movie, there is a trailer. A brand new one. That just came out last night… Like at midnight… someone’s time. Yo ho ho ho, a pirates life for me

Apparently Mr. Darabont wrote a script for the next Indiana Jones that Steven Spielberg, the director of the Indiana Jones movies, absolutely loved. He loved it so much that he wanted it to become the next Indiana Jones movie. Unfortunately for Frank Darabont, there is a man out there who is pure evil. And his name is George Lucas.

You see, George Lucas owns the company that puts out the Indiana Jones movies. You may have heard of it. It’s called LucasFilm. Yes! The same company as LucasFarts, the people who use to make cool adventure games! So, anyways… George Lucas basically said no to the script, which I’m assuming went like this when he read it:

George Lucas: Ummm, this script doesn’t have any light sabers in it!
George Lucas Assistant: Sir, it’s an Indiana Jones script.
George Lucas: WHERE IS YODA?!
George Lucas Assistant: Sir. THIS IS AN INDIAN JONES SCRIPT.
George Lucas: Yes, but I don’t see any X-Wing fighters or even one alien. This script sucks ass.
George Lucas Assistant: *sigh*

The only way that the next Indiana Jones movie was actually approved because he was drugged for 3 months to film the movie. At least that’s what I heard.

Indiana Jones 4 Interview

So… yeah… It’s not really adventure gaming news, but seriously, it’s awesome nonetheless…

There is going to be an INDIANA JONES 4. WITH HARRISON FORD.

Can Harrison Ford still walk? I mean, seriously, it’s been 19 years since the last release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Oh my God… 19 years?! I feel super old! It totally doesn’t seem like it was 19 years since they made that movie. I was like 10 years old when that came out… Wait, that would make me 29 and I’m not 29.. yet. But seriously, I think this is the first moment in my life that one of my favorite movies, which was made 19 years ago, has made me feel old. I can’t believe this.

And speaking of old… wasn’t Harrison Ford old 19 years ago when he did Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? Is it going to be called Indiana Jones and the Adventures in Geritol? Indiana Jones and the Search of Adult Diapers That Don’t Leak?

I hear he’s also getting a new get outfit, too. LucasFilms (*vomit*) did a market analysis on what women would like to see on Harrison Ford in the next Indiana Jones movie.

Okay, I’m just kidding. I actually think that is the worse photo EVER of Harrison Ford and his skinny legs. I just actually threw up in my mouth a little. Sick.

In all seriousness, though, Harrison Ford is on of my favorite actors… and Indiana Jones one of my favorite characters, so I’ll definitely be checking out this film in all it digitalized glory when it comes out.

CAN’T WAIT. Well… I guess I’m going to have to, because according to this article, the movie won’t be out until the fourth quarter of 2008.
