\\r\\n\\r\\nI do not have a high opinion of Yahoo\\\’s online video thinking. That they would invite YouTube star Kevin Nalts to speak at a conference as a second choice to YouTube cheater Dan Ackerman Greenberg only reinforces that opinion.\\r\\n\\r\\nNevertheless, Kevin did a good job of bringing fire to the cavemen — even falling off the stage while doing it. Check out his presentation on the secret sauce of viral video.

Want to know how much it costs to advertise inside online video? Daisy Whitney posts a survey of ad rates from various video sites.
Blip.tv: CPM $10-$30, sponsorships $30-$100.
Goodnight Burbank: product placements $3,000-$8,000.
Abigail’s X-Rated Teen Diary: product placements $1,000-$5,000.
Revision3: CPM $60-$80.
For Your Imagination: CPM $20-$60.
ManiaTV: CPM $10-$30.
TV Guide: CPM $25-$30.
CNN: CPM $25.
We already know Ask a Ninja charges $100,000 monthly. Kevin Nalts charges $3,000-$10,000 per product placement.
Notice that niche video sites can command ad rates higher than those of a mainstream video site like CNN or TV Guide. That’s the value of a focused audience.

The Ninja has animated collabs with Doug Bresler. Even a YouTube non-partner like Filipina cosplayer Alodia gets animated.

Now all of Happy Slip’s characters get an animated tribute. Hardcore fans will relish the rich references. Wonder which hit online live-action series will be the first to get a full-fledged online animated adaptation.

A show I was on actually downplayed Happy Slip as a YouTube star, a downplay to which I violently objected. They even edited my words to make some washed-up TV actress look like a true-blue Internet star, making the Web look like nothing more than a stepping stone to minor TV fame at best.
