Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Nate McLouth was hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of San Francisco Giants rookie Pablo Sandoval. Luckily for McLouth, the ball took a hop off the outfield grass before hitting him just above the eyes as he was diving to make the play.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette printed a picture in today’s sports section with McLouth holding onto a towel on his face after the freak play.
