According to Manufacturing Business Technology (MBT) opposing energy plans are in process and one is preferred by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). Let’s see which one you think NAM favors- is it number 1 or number 2?
1. “includes actions….such as exploring for oil on the nation’s Outer Continental Shelf and in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.”
2. “would impose onerous taxes, mandates, and regulations.”

Of course, number 1 is preferred by NAM. Many would say, “oh yeah, big business wants to rape the environment”. We need to grow up and figure out that it is big business that supplies the jobs in this country. The other thing that we must realize is that oil prices aren’t manipulated by the oil companies. Their profit margins are less than many business sectors and the cost of exploration and development are rapidly rising largely due to poor energy policy that contributes to their costs. The falsehoods perpetuated by the media in this area are seemingly a ’60s induced opposition to all that makes money.

The government’s history of getting involved with business control through taxes, mandates and regulations is fraught with one failure after another. Why are we, the public, so afraid of the free market and “big bad” business to the point of supporting an inefficient government led tax and regulate program? Do you fear big business? Let me know why? Tell me a story? Am I wrong?
