Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be eaten by a Grue from the interactive fiction series, Zork? Oh, you haven’t heard of a Grue? Well, apparently a Grue is some horrible type of fictional monster that comes from a Scandinavian that means “to shudder or feel horror”. And it’s also the basis for the word “gruesome”. But enough of the education. There was a Grue in Zork and he ate people. He ate people real good!

There is a rapper called MC Frontalot who is appears to be a self-proclaimed nerd and what did nerds do back before there were super computers that could calculate the trickiest of calculations and stream thousands of bits of data in mere minutes? Well, they played interactive fiction games on computers like the Commodore 64.

MC Frontalot was no exception! He played himself some Zork back in the day and decided to write a rap song about it called It Is Pitch Dark. And then he made a music video. If that’s not nerdy, then I don’t know what is.

Check out the video here:

If you, like me, need to see the lyrics to know exactly what the hell is going on in a song, check the lyrics out here.

Ever think about typing in “Adventure Game” into Wikipedia and seeing what came up? I never really thought about it until just now, so I gave it a try and well… what do you know? There is an entire article about adventure gaming to read about!. Not only do we get the definition of an adventure game, but we also get to read all about the history of adventure games!
SO FREAKING NERDY. I mean, just check out this definition:

This article is about the video game genre. For the British children’s television series, see The Adventure Game.

This article is about the video game genre. For the British children’s television series, see The Adventure Game.
An adventure game is a type of video game characterized by investigation, exploration, puzzle-solving, interaction with game characters, and a focus on narrative rather than reflex-based challenges. The term originates from the 1970s game Adventure,[1][2] and retains a narrow definition based on the style of gameplay, and not the theme or subject matter (unlike adventure films and adventure novels).

This is definitely the coolest wiki entry ever!
