Nets Lose to Knicks, Prove They Suck

As if there was any question, the New Jersey Nets suck. They made it official on Saturday night by losing at home to the New York Knicks. The now 0-13 Nets trailed by nine points at halftime and never really made much of an effort to get back into it.
Rafer Alston was King of Suck on the night. The starting point guard for the Nets had three points on 1-for-7 shooting. The good news is that he didn’t stab anyone. Sean Williams chipped in by missing all five of his shots and committing two turnovers in 16 minutes. The good …read more
Swine Flu Sidelines Chris Douglas-Roberts

Chris Douglas-Roberts has been enjoying a breakout season for the New Jersey Nets. However, after coming down with swine flu, his season has to be put on hold.
The Nets say that there isn’t any time table for his return — it’s just a matter of when the 6-foot-7 swingman feels he is healthy enough to get back on the court.
On the season, Douglas-Roberts is averaging 15.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 34.8 minutes per game. He has also connected on 19-of-21 free throws. Last season as a rookie, Douglas-Roberts averaged less than five points per contest.

Vince Carter Injury Info – Sprained Ankle

Vince Carter was tearing up his old team when he twisted his ankle and missed the rest of the game. Carter, now of the Orlando Magic, had 16 points in 15 minutes against the New Jersey Nets before suffering the sprained ankle.
After the game, Carter was confident that he could bounce back quickly. In fact, he’s aiming to return on Sunday against the Toronto Raptors — another of his former teams.

The 2009-10 NBA season hasn’t even begun, however there are a number of teams that have no shot at winning a championship this year. Here’s a look at the basketball power rankings for the worst teams in the NBA as it stands:
5. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Timberwolves have a lot of good, young pieces — namely Al Jefferon and Kevin Love — but it’ll take a few years before this squad is ready.

After basically giving away Richard Jefferson and let Ramon Sessions, the Bucks just don’t have enough talent to compete right now.

Suicidal Jayson Williams Tasered at Hotel

The life of Jayson Williams continues to spiral out of control. Not long ago, he was a star player for the New Jersey Nets. But after he a shooting at his home of a limousine driver in 2002 and the recent divorce from his wife, Williams may be near rock bottom.
In a hotel in lower Manhattan, police were called to a hotel after they were alerted that Williams was acting suicidal. After Williams allegedly resisted officers, he was tasered and taken into custody. He was eventually sent to a local hospital.
