Since one of the two teams will eventually have to lose, which team will lose first. Will it be Drew Brees and the Saints or Peyton Manning and the Colts?

Saints’ Heath Evans Tears his ACL

The New Orleans Saints have had a fantastic offense attack so far this season. However, the Saints will now have to continue on without fullback Heath Evans. Evans, who came over from the New England Patriots in the offseason, suffered a torn ACL in Week 7.
On the season, Evans had five rushes for 16 yards and a touchdown. He also had ten receptions for 70 yards and two touchdowns. While the stats might not look overly great, Evans ability to produce from the fullback position was an important aspect to New Orleans’ offense.
Evans will also be missed because of the …read more

NFL Week 6 Power Rankings

With five weeks of the 2009 NFL season in the books, there are still five teams that are undefeated. Here’s a look at those five teams and which are the cream of the crop.
5. Denver Broncos
Even though the Broncos are 5-0, does anyone truly believe that this team is a Super Bowl contender? Many experts aren’t even believing that Denver will make the playoffs. I guess we’ll see.
4. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have won each of their five games. While nothing is too wrong with their squad, Brett Favre remains a question mark. Can he survive the entire 17 week NFL …read more

NFL Power Rankings – Week 5

After the first four weeks, there are five teams that are still undefeated. Here’s a look at the undefeated teams and where they rank.
5. Denver Broncos
Although the Broncos are 4-0, it’s difficult to believe they are for real. Their offense appears to be a lot less potent than last year. Defensively, they have been very good — but will it last?
4. Minnesota Vikings
Brett Favre had an outing to remember on Monday Night Football. The Vikings look like legit Super Bowl contenders. However, whether Favre can last a complete season playing at a high level is unknown.
3. New Orleans Saints
The Saints …read more

Kardashian and Bush Back Together

It must have been all the romance flowing from her sister Khloe’s wedding to Lamar Odom over the weekend… because Kim Kardashian and Reggie Bush are back on as a couple. The Kardashian ladies sure do love their athletes!

Kim and Reggie split in July, but still remained friendly. It was a very mature breakup, with both of them wishing the other well and not spilling any details of the relationship. (And how often do we see that in Hollywood? Or in non-famous couples, for that matter?)
Just one day after Khloe Kardashian married L.A. Lakers …read more

Garrett Hartley Suspended for Adderall

Garrett Hartley, the starting kicker for the New Orleans Saints, has been suspended for the first four games of the 2009 NFL season due to testing positive for a banned substance. According to reports, Hartley was suspended due to testing positive for Adderall — a stimulant.
Last season as a rookie, Hartley took over eight games into the season. In the final eight games, he was flawless. He made all 13 of his field goal attempts and all 28 of his extra points. Although he didn’t attempt any 50+ yard field goals, he was 4-for-4 from 40 yards or longer.
The 23-year-old …read more

Did Mother of Drew Brees Commit Suicide?

Drew Brees, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, was back at training camp on Monday. Over the weekend, he was in Colorado dealing with the death of his 59-year-old mother, Mina Brees.
While nothing officially has been announced, multiple online reports indicate that the cause of death for Mina Brees could very well be suicide. When asked about the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death, Brees wasn’t too forthcoming.
Said Brees: “I appreciate everybody giving their condolences and everything, but — I’d rather deal with it, move on, and I’m trying to.”
Brees hadn’t been close to his mother in recent years. In …read more

Malcolm Jenkins Agrees to Terms with Saints

Malcolm Jenkins, who was one of the unsigned first round draft picks, has agreed to a contract with the New Orleans Saints. The contract, which is reportedly five years in length, will allow the 14th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft to start participating in training camp.
Jenkins is a cornerback out of Ohio State who many experts believe could start for the Saints as a rookie. While missing the beginning of camp won’t help, it likely isn’t too late.
Said Mickey Loomis, the GM of the Saints: “We’re glad to have agreed to this five-year deal with Malcolm and look …read more
