Are Nintendo Wii Games Improving?

I love my Nintedo Wii but I’ve written, on several occasions, about how upset I was over the quality of a lot of the games.  I felt like they were just pushing games out there for the sake of having a lot of titles in their library and, for the most part, I believe I was right.
Back in January, it was shown that ratings for Wii games were, on average, 6-7% lower than reviews for PS3 and Xbox 360.  Pretty disappointing, huh?
Now, new market research is showing that Wii games are now considered to be on the level as those …read more

“Spectrobes: Origins” for Wii

Spectrobes: Origins was released for the Nintendo Wii earlier this week which is great news for people who have enjoyed the series of games on DS but want to play it on the biggest console.
Looking at the screenshots, I’m not 100% sure about how well they have adapted this game for the Wii but if you’re a Spectrobe fan, you probably will be willing to forgive any glitches considering the fact that you’re finally able to play it on the Wii.

The action-adventure game reveals secrets from the franchise’s past and makes use of the unique Wii controls but many elements …read more

“Brave: A Warrior’s Tale” on Xbox and Wii

Brave: A Warrior’s Tale was released for Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii (the PSP version was cancelled) this week and I actually think it looks pretty cool.  It’s definitely one of the first games I’ve seen that features Native American mythology and traditional music.

The plot revolves around Brave who, now elderly, tells the tale of his adventurous youth when he embarked on an epic journey in an attempt to save his tribe from the evil, Wendigo.  The environment looks great (even if it is a little cartoonish) as he makes his way through forests filled with majestic Redwood trees and …read more

“Rolling Stone Drum King” for Wii

Rolling Stone Drum King was released earlier this week and, from the looks of it, it’s just another video game trying to cash in on the fact that many people secretly want to be rock stars.  I truly haven’t been able to find many details about this game aside from the fact that it features drum simulation and uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk as part of a virtual drumkit.

Players have the option of rocking out as a single-player or they can battle a friend in the multiplayer mode.  Aside from that, the info I gleaned was basically that you …read more

“The Munchables” on Nintendo Wii

The Munchables was released for Nintendo Wii this week and I want to hate it and all of its cutesy graphics but I just can’t.  Nintendo fans might be drawn to this game since it seems to combine (judging from the screenshots) from some of the more popular games (in some instances, it even reminds me of Mario Galaxy).
The plot unfolds as the Munchables’ home planet (yeah, they are aliens) is jeopardized when it is invaded by the evil Don Onion (and his band of nasty space pirates, of course!).  Knowing they must do something to save their way of …read more

“Royal Wii” for the Queen of England

I had heard a little while ago that the Queen of England enjoyed playing on the Wii with her grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry.  If they were sharing a console before, they won’t have to anymore since gaming company, THQ, created a special version just for Her Royal Highness.
Honestly, I can’t explain why finding out that the Queen has a pimped out version of the Wii thrills me but it does, especially when I look at what was done to it.  Are you ready for this?  The Queen’s Wii is gold-plated.  How awesome is that?!
I want to stress, …read more

EA Sports Active Multiplayer Pack

EA Sports Active will be released tomorrow and I plan to be waiting in the electronics department at Wal-Mart as soon as they stock the shelves to make sure I’ve got a copy.
I love my WiiFit much more than I expected and still I think EA Sports Active looks even better.  The more I’ve learned about it the more impressed I am and I just can’t say enough about how cool it is that Nintendo has come up with a way to make exercise more fun and accessible while maintaining the challenge.
To go along with the game (check out …read more

“Help Wanted” for Nintendo Wii

Help Wanted: 50 Wacky Jobs was released for the Nintendo Wii on May 12, 2009 and it looks like a lot of fun.  If you’ve played games like WiiPlay and WarioWare Smooth Moves, you will probably be prepared for some of the skills you’ll need to complete the tasks.  As is the case with those other games, Help Wanted will likely make you look like a complete fool as you play it but who cares if it’s fun!

From what I understand, players will get to choose from 50 different odd jobs including Haunted House Monster, Clown, Make-up Artist, Pinch Hitter, …read more

“Pirates Vs. Ninjas Dodgeball”

Did you love playing dodgeball as a kid?  I don’t know why but I really loved it (and kickball).  Maybe it was because I was smaller than most of the children in my class (and I was fast) so I think it was hard to actually hit me with the ball.  In short, I guess I was a pretty effective dodger.
It’s been years since I played that game so, until now, the closest I could get to reliving those golden moments fro my childhood was to watch that so-bad-its-good movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story starring Ben Stiller and Vince …read more

“Fantasy Aquarium World”

Aquarium World was released for the Nintendo Wii this week and I think it is yet another example of how Nintendo caters to gamers of all types.  You can play games about fitness, action, adventure, cooking, puzzles and so much more.
This game allows players to experience what it is like to own, care for and enjoy an aquarium without having to worry about whether it will leak or if the fish will die.
Instead, players can customize their tank by choosing from a variety of gravel styles, decorations, plant life, and of course, fish (which you can mix and match in …read more
