Nokia Becomes a Laptop Maker

Nokia is about to become more than just a cell phone manufacturer. The Booklet 3G is the name of Nokia’s first mini-laptop, a netbook with a 10″ widescreen, HD display inside an aluminum frame. The Booklet 3G weighs just 2.75 pounds and measures a little more than three-quarters of an inch thick.
The Intel Atom-powered Booklet reportedly has 12 hours of battery life, and will provide users with multiple options for connecting to the Net, including standard Wifi, 3G, Bluetooth, and built-in GPS. There’s an HDMI port for HD video out, a built-in webchat video, and an SD card reader.

Nokia, Symbian and Mobile Internet
Everybody knows about Nokia that has taken control of Symbian – the UK-based software company developer of Symbian – a popular operating system for smart phones.
But what will Nokia do with it?
Nokia plans make available for free the computer code of the Symbian and its code behind the S60, Nokia’s user interface for smartphones through a foundation called the – Symbian Foundation.
Will this be the start of a war on who will dominate the mobile Internet?
There are thoes who believe that because there will no longer be royalty paid this will bring down the cost of phones.
