My colleague and I was just discussing about various computer hardware devices we would want placed in a computer I was hoping to build from the ground up. We came over the discussion on the power supply and both agreed to buy a 750 watt Corsair that would bring power stability to the entire system. A shaky power supply could damage various parts of the computer like the memory, video cards, cpu, etc. Also, a high powered NVidia graphics card would mean it eats up more power and even if Corsair power supply are in the $ 200 USD ballpark, …read more

Whoever said MACs were cool? I know who, the uninformed ones. Introducing Hardcore Computer’s Reactor. A computer only seen in movies that puts the CPU, GPUs, SSDs, a proprietary motherboard, and a power supply in non-conductive oil.
The Reactor is made of fabricated heavy-duty aluminum that add to its nuclear looking 2030 movie atmosphere.
This state of the art case is the first box in the world that is EAX5-capable X-Fi chip and can also claim to be the first box to use three Samsung 256GB SSD drives for a solid 768GB of storage. The graphics is powered by three Nvidia’s GTX …read more
Call of Duty 4 DLC to hit PCs for free
Why does PC gaming rock? Because you get your downloadable content for free. According to Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling at IAMfourzerotwo, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s Variety map pack is being sponsored by graphics card maker Nvidia. The free DLC will be available for keyboard/mouse jockeys on June 5th.
Motherboard allows 3-way SLI, but affording three video cards is another matter
I consider myself decently educated in the ways of the PC, but what I learned today told me that my current knowledge is nothing compared to what’s out there. I’ve just read that you can now do three-way SLIs if you have the cash to burn.
SLI is an acronym for Scalable Link Interface, a technology by Nvidia which lets you link three video cards together to make your games even more purdy.
Nvidia’s new nForce 780i motherboard lets you do just that. You see, the 780i board is designed specifically for 1333FSB Intel QX9650 (Yorkfield) processors (Core 2 in English). The …read more
