The sound bite-a-minute Ocho Cinco is making his way up north to play the Green Bay Packers this weekend, and not surprisingly he’s threatening to make a move sure to offend any Packer fan. He says if he gets into the end zone he will do the Lambeau Leap.

You know this is never gonna happen, right?

It’s not that I doubt Chad Johnson/Ocho Cinco could score six points. It’s that I doubt the Packer fans would let him into the stands in order to do a Lambeau Leap. As Packer Linebacker Aaron Kampman says, “I’m not even gonna touch it, but I’m sure our fans will take care of that.”

Twitter has taken over the world! In the world of sports, athletes are either fighting with people posing as themselves and sending false messages, or they are embracing it full force. For the Cincinnati Bengals Chad Johnson (or “Ocho Cinco” as he prefers to be called), Twitter helps connect him to the fans.

Ocho Cinco gave an interview recently where he said he plans on Twittering a lot during the upcoming football season. He said the site allows him to chat with thousands of fans at once and that it’s “big” for him. Never one to miss out on a marketing opportunity, he also said he’s going to develop his own application where fans and “interact and follow” him.

Now here’s where it gets interesting. He said he’s going to be “using Twitter during games, during halftime, after the games. I’m going to be taking it to the next level.”

Athletes are getting into trouble when they use Twitter during games or in the locker room. Coaches worry that they are taking their mind off the game by texting on Twitter, and perhaps even giving out some team secrets they shouldn’t.

I personally love the idea of a football player Twittering to his heart’s content. Of course if a guy on my favorite team decided to Tweet about the game and then ended up playing poorly, I might not feel that way.

Ocho Cinco Is Ready To Go

Chad Johnson, otherwise known at Ocho Cinco, is ready to play again the Baltimore Ravens.

He told ESPN that he’s “extremely focused” and that “there’s nothing wrong” with him. He’s ready to go and stick it to the Ravens (and all of his doubters as well).

I don’t know about Johnson because lately it seems that all he’s “focused” on is getting attention.

Why else would he have his last name legally changed to Ocho Cinco? (Which, I might add, isn’t even the correct spelling in Spanish for eighty-five. The correct spelling and pronunciation would be Ochenta y Cinco. So basically Johnson will now be known as eight, five. Whatever.)
