Jab And Grapple 2.5 What Do You Think So Far?

By now I’ve done a little research and found that I am actually the fifth writer for Jab And Grapple. 5 writers in 2 and a half years…kinda makes you think that this blog is cursed. Well let me tell you that I’m here for the long run. I do this for a living and if the time comes that I can no longer sustain a livable lifestyle through blogging, then you may see me leave. Until then I plan on doing my best to bring the latest news and discussion in Pro Wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts.
I know since …read more

The last theme day here at the b5 media network’s sports network revolved around “Feelin’ Good About Sports.” My “feelin’ good” article talked about the WWE and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Below are some of the other posts generated by this popular theme topic.

Boxing, WWE, NBA: Drama, False Outcomes, Corruption, and Hypocrisy

Mike from www.fpsrantings.com and mikegotgame.wordpress.com wrote a great comment to my The Real Drama of Boxing vs. the Fake Drama of the WWE and the NBA post as well as my updated profile and I wanted to respond but not have it get lost over in the comments.

My response might as well also be a response to today’s wire service reports that disgraced NBA ref Tim Donaghy’s attorney told investigators that relationships among officials, coaches and players “affected the outcome of games.” Whoa, whoa, whoa. That’s a big statement.

The Real Drama of Boxing vs. the Fake Drama of the WWE and the NBA

I recently updated my b5 profile with the intention of explaining how www.jabandgrapple.com could cover both the scripted fun of pro wrestling entertainment and the unexpected life-threating tension of professional boxing. My answer wasn’t that they both take place in rings and involve some sort of combat.
No, my explanation was that they are bookends of the sporting world with everything else existing in between their emotional bounds. Friday night was evidence of this evocative breadth. WWE’s SmackDown and ESPN’s Friday Night Fights were broadcast simultaneously and my Motorola DVR only allowed me to watch one at a time while taping …read more

The Best Boxing Film Series – Rocky

Us sports bloggers at b5 have decided to do a theme day on the favorite movies about our sports. Being that I blog about boxing and wrestling I seem to have one logical choice, Rocky. Now let me set the record straight, Rocky is not the only movie about boxing and wrestling but I feel it is the best set of films. Now Rocky was definitely a good movie and if you haven’t seen it you are truly missing out. The middle movies went down a bit from the original in quality, especially the 5th one but a savior is …read more
