Kobe Bryant Video – Over the Backboard

In this Kobe Bryant video, you can see one of the best shots you’ll ever see in an NBA game. The video shows Kobe making a shot from behind the backboard and at an impossible angle. You must watch it. It’s a sick, sick shot.
When Kobe wasn’t adding to his legend, he was helping the Los Angeles Lakers crush the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kobe had 26 points, seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and no turnovers as the Lakers won 101-85.
Up by 19 points at the end of the first quarter, this game was never much of a contest. Andrew …read more

Kevin Durant Goes for 30 as Thunder Win

Kevin Durant has an enormous amount of potential. This season, many NBA experts believe Durant will be improved to the point that his name could be in the MVP talks. In Wednesday’s preseason game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat, the 6-foot-9 forward illustrated his skills.
In 32 minutes, Durant had 30 points, six rebounds and two assists while hitting 10-of-16 shots from the field and 9-of-10 free throw attempts. It was his second straight preseason game in which he scored exactly 30 points.
Against the Heat, Durant got plenty of help — namely from Jeff Green. The Georgetown …read more

James Harden Injury Update – Sprained Ankle

James Harden, the third overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, is quickly figuring out how physically demanding it is on the professional level. The rookie out of Arizona State got hit in the eye in the first day of training camp and then sprained his ankle on the second day.
The good news is that Harden’s injury isn’t believed to be serious, although he could miss a few days of training camp. The Thunder begin their preseason schedule with an October 7th game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
If Harden can rebound from his ankle injury and …read more

Mo Cheeks Takes Coaching Job with Thunder

Mo Cheeks, the former head coach for both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Philadelphia 76ers, has accepted a coaching job with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Cheeks will serve as an assistant coach under head coach Scott Brooks.
As a head coach, Cheeks had a combined record of 284-286. After he was fired last season, the Sixers were able to battle back and qualify for the 2009 NBA Playoffs. In the postseason, they gave the Orlando Magic a run for their money in the first round.
Also recently hired as an assistant coach for the Thunder was Rex Kalamian. Kalamian was …read more

Damien Wilkins Traded to the Timberwolves

The Oklahoma City Thunder traded Damien Wilkins and Chucky Atkins to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Etan Thomas and a pair of second round draft picks.
Wilkins is arguably the best player in this transaction. Although last season he didn’t play too much or too well, he’s still 29 years old and has upside. Last season, he averaged 5.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 15.5 minutes per game. His best season was arguably in 2007-08 when he averaged 9.2 points and 3.2 rebounds.
The 34-year-old Atkins will provide depth at point guard for the Timberwolves. Although he has struggled the last couple of …read more

Scott Brooks to Remain Coach of the Thunder

That improvement has earned Brooks the full-time gig as head coach at Oklahoma City. The announcement was made by Sam Presti, the general manager of the Thunder.
Prior to becoming the head coach of the Thunder, Brooks was an assistant coach in the NBA since 2003. He started with the Denver Nuggets, then moved on to the Sacramento Kings before ending up with the Thunder under Carlesimo.
Basketball fans remember Brooks as the scrappy guard who …read more

Kristen Johnson Video – Failed Houdini Trick

When fans attended a recent Oklahoma City Thunder game, they got to see more than just a few ex-Seattle Supersonics play basketball. They even saw more than a slimy owner cheer on the team he stole from the Pacific Northwest. The fans got to see Kristen Johnson have a seizure while trying to complete an underwater Houdini trick. You can see the Kristen Johnson video at the end of this entry to see what those Thunder fans saw.
For the first couple of minutes, the video looks like your everyday boring halftime show. But near the end, you can see Kristen …read more

Five Worst Teams in the NBA in 2008

Minnesota Timberwolves
Will the T’Wolves ever recover from trading away Kevin Garnett? It doesn’t look like it. This might be the first team in sporting history that will have to be shut down just for failure to get over a trade.
Memphis Grizzlies
After the collusion trade that sent Pau Gasol to the Lakers, the Grizzlies have gone from a team who had playoff hopes to a team that is a few years away from threatening .500. The Grizz have good young talent but they are more like a really good college team rather than an NBA team.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards fired Eddie Jordan …read more
