Subaru and the Potato Plant
I’m a sometimes reader of the New York Times, so I was struck when I saw Thomas Friedman’s Lexus and the Olive Tree in the library. The beauty of a library is that I can pick a book up, thumb through it, bring it home, and, if I don’t like it, not read it with absolutely no guilt feelings at all. Since I’m cheap, that appeals to me, and it’s also practical because my house is too small for the books I have already.
