Atlanta Startup Gets Funding Via Twitter

SkyBlox is a startup founded in 2008 that provides Wi-Fi to restaurants and retail stores around the city of Atlanta. In addition to providing Wi-Fi, SkyBlox allows real-time communication between businesses and their mobile customers. Reviews have given their product high marks.
The online startup was also in the news recently for being the first company to receive funding via Twitter.

SplashCast Social TV Shuts Down

Most of the time, online startup companies just don’t make it. SplashCast, a relatively popular Social TV network, recently announced that it will be shutting down. After originally receiving $4 million in venture funding, the startup couldn’t get another round of funding and was forced to close its doors.
