Special Force is developed by Korea-based DragonFly.
At first glance, Special Force seems to be a Counter-Strike wannabe, but MicroGaming’s marketing representative insists that the game has more oomph to it.
Knowing that marketing people would stake their lives to the supposed quality of their game even if it’s named Daikatana, I’ve decided to download the game’s beta client for a look. Expect more on Special Force when I get my hands on it.

K2 Network, the game publisher for online FPS War Rock in the U.S., Europe, and India, announced the release of a new patch titled Chapter 2: Revelations. The patch comes with a spanking new storyline, a couple of maps, three vehicles, four PX items and a parachute system, among other things.

The two new maps are titled Thamugadi and Bandar. Also included in the patch are additions to the PX including:

20% Bonus XP – Increases earned in-game experience;

Extra Clip Sniper – Adds an extra clip to sniper rifles;

Extra Clip Other – Adds extra clip to selected rifles;

Crosshair 3 – A crosshair designed for quicker acquisition of targets.

The three new vehicles in the game are the following: the Leopard tank, Chinook helicopter and Apache helicopter. There’s also a new parachute system where players can now drop into enemy territory by jumping out of the Chinook helicopter.

I haven’t received any word if our local servers for War Rock would have the new patch implemented, and if said patch comes with fixes for the game. If you recall, I included War Rock in my list of worst shooters of 2007 and with good reason. Any fixes would be welcome, so here’s to the shooter not stinking so badly.
