Party Gaming Settles With U.S.

Party Gaming (Party Poker’s Parent Co.) has finally settled with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York after 2 years of negotiations. The agreement holds Party Gaming will pay a total of $105 million in fines, spread out over the next three and a half years and that no charges will be brought against it.
The reason PG was in legal trouble was essentially that prior October 2006 (when Internet gambling regulation was passed), U.S. customer transactions intended for PartyGaming were processed by third parties, and other gaming and payment-related activity that were illegal in the …read more
