The official page for Risen went live on Wednesday which means that a MASSIVE online RPG is available for your gaming enjoyment.
The game hits September 30th of this year and promises to be a big hit with online players across the globe. Until then, check out these bad ass screenshots. Nothing less than awesome.

Mars-RPG with a lot of Killin’

Mars looks like one of those games that could be amazingly cool or an epic fail.
I’m attracted to it because it’s an RPG and I LOVE a good story. Also, the screenshots that I’ve found look pretty good and the gameplay [at the bottom] looks solid.
You can play the game as Seth, “an elite soldier with a dark past” or as Pandora, “an ambitious technomancer”.
From the press release:
In the destroyed world of Mars, two destinies mingle together. Two beings searching for their identity travel across a broken planet, constantly facing bloody political conflicts which tear the old colonies apart. Often divided, sometimes fighting the same enemies, both are the source of the advent of a new era…
Sounds pretty cool, don’t you think?
The video has no sound [which I find odd] but shows gameplay on the PS3.
Mars hits stores the end of 2010 on PC, Xbox360 and PS3.

Who didn’t see this one coming?
When you release a free program that allows everyone and their brother [or sister] to create a creature and then upload it to the internet and YouTube you’re bound to have a few people [or a bunch] who insist upon adding certain “parts” to their creatures.
EA is apparently all up in boobs arms about the “misuse” of their creator and I’m really not sure why EA is so surprised. Once the complete Creator comes out with the game, there’s no telling what kinds of creatures are created with interestingly placed parts.
After the entire game is released, things will calm down and life will return to normal pre-sporn wonderfulness.
EA, take a deep cleansing breath. Everything will be just fine.
Horse Racing Sims

In honor of the 140th racing of the Belmont Stakes, I figured that I would give you a short list [in no particular order] of horse racing games. You know, cause if you can’t actually race a horse you might as well play a sim of racing a horse.
#1 Gallop Racer 2006 - Available for the PS2 and it got a rating of B- from 1up.
#2 Horse Racing Tycoon - For PC and it’s definitely a “bargain” at 7 bucks.
#3 Final Stretch-Horse Racing Sim - This bastard is $59.86…hope it’s worth the dough.
#4 Quarter Pole Thoroughbred Racing - I used to play this dude on my Tandy.
If those four games don’t satisfy your horse racing sickness then you can always watch the Belmont. Even though Casino Drive is scratched, it’s sure to be a great race…maybe even a historic race if Big Brown wins.
The race will be televised live on ABC at 5pm EST.
