Pedro Martinez Beats Tim Lincecum

Going up against possibly NL Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants, Pedro Martinez looked like the old Pedro Martinez who used to dominate batters. Riding Martinez’s performance, the Philadelphia Phillies were able to beat the Giants by a final count of 2-1.
In seven innings, Martinez gave up only five hits and one earned run while striking out nine and walking no one. With the win, he upped his record on the season to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 3.52.

Pedro Martinez Victorious in his Return

Pedro Martinez wasn’t great but he was good enough in his 2009 baseball debut. Signed earlier in the season by the Philadelphia Phillies, Martinez helped his new team beat the Chicago Cubs by a final count of 12-5.
In five innings of work, Martinez gave up three earned runs, seven hits and one walk. He also struck out five batters while throwing 99 pitches.

Pedro Martinez Thrives in the Minors

As Pedro Martinez continues his road back to the big leagues, he has been pitching against minor leaguers. On Wednesday, Martinez had a strong outing at the Double-A level.
In six innings, Martinez finished with 11 strikeouts. Does he think that this was his last start in the minors before getting to pitch in the big leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies.
