Child’s Play

When most people hear the word “gamer” the first thing that comes to mind is usually a reclusive D&D kid or someone who plays nothing but violent games and is looking to bring their game to the “real world”.
I’d bet my PS3 that hardly anyone’s initial thought would be a person with a charitable heart.
Child’s Play is turning the gamer stereotype on its head and helping sick children in one fell swoop.
Penny Arcade has partnered with Amazon and over 40 hospitals worldwide to make sick kids’ stay at the hospital a bit more pleasant.
The way it works is you click on your chosen hospital on the map on Child’s Play website. That takes you to the hospital’s wish list on Amazon. You buy the toy or game or even gaming console [!] and then whatever you buy is sent to that hospital.
With so many sick kids spending Christmas in hospitals, this is the perfect way to make this Christmas just a bit better.
This post is being submitted to a group writing project to help increase the exposure for this awesome charity. The winner of the contest will receive $100 for their charity if Kate gets over 50 entrants.
