Friday Fun Video: Back To School

]]> This year, the back to school shopping frenzy that usually boosts August was a little weak. However, retailers still have one more shot for this weekend. The Labor Day sales should be memorable. Anyway, the following MasterCard commercial really got me thinking about some stuff:

I thought about my own school experience. And how it really was important to find people who understood you. It’s still important today. Do you really want to spend your life trying to please people who don’t even care about you? Sometimes I wonder whether I want things just to impress others, or if I think they will really make me happy. I’ve come to the conclusion that things don’t make me happy. They might provide some enjoyment, but they don’t make me happy.

Being with my family and friends makes me happy. I like being with the people who understand me. Things may not judge, but they can’t understand and love me, either. So even if I run into financial difficulties, it’s nice to know that I still have my family.
