Brian Westbrook didn’t play last week against the New York Giants due to a concussion. However, in Week 9 against the Dallas Cowboys, Westbrook is expected to be back in action.
The Philadelphia Eagles starting running back was originally injured in Week 7 against the Washington Redskins. As he was being tackled, his helmet hit a defensive player’s knee. It was Westbrook’s first concussion of his career.
On the season, the 5-foot-10 playmaker had 41 rush attempts for 197 yards and one rushing touchdown. He also has 17 receptions for 130 yards and one receiving touchdown. While his numbers are down this …read more

Brian Westbrook, the starting running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, was lost early in Week 7 in the Eagles game against the Washington Redskins. While being tackled, Westbrook hit his helmet on London Fletcher’s knee. After not moving for a bit, he eventually was helped to the sidelines and diagnosed with a concussion.
Andy Reid is going to be safe with Westbrook’s status going forward.
“We’ll just see,” said Reid. “We’ll see how he is. I’m not going to put him out there when he’s at risk.”
Although the Eagles lost arguably their best player, they were able to beat the Redskins by …read more
Michael Vick Traded After This Season?
October 9, 2009 by Cherie Burbach
Will Michael Vick be the new face of the Eagles after Donovan McNabb retires? Probably not. According to Philly.com, the Eagles will likely trade him after this year. There’s no doubt that Vick will gain a nice draft pick if traded, and the Eagles do need to beef up their team with some younger talent.
If they were to keep Vick for a second year, however, the Eagles would have to pay him $5.6 million. Not an entirely bad price if you’re in a pinch for a quarterback. But as of right now, the Eagles aren’t …read more

After missing two games due to a broken rib, Donovan McNabb will be back on the field on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McNabb was originally injured in Week 1 when being hit as he was scoring a touchdown.
With McNabb on the sidelines, the Eagles actually got good play from backup Kevin Kolb. In Week 2, Kolb had 391 passing yards and two touchdowns. In Week 3, he had 327 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
Add Michael Vick to the equation and the Eagles have a ton of depth at quarterback. If McNabb struggles out of …read more
Will We See Vick on Sunday?

Though it’s only Thursday and a lot of things can change, there are a lot of injuries around the NFL that have fans (and fantasy football owners) concerned. In Philadelphia, Donovan McNabb, Brian Westbrook and DeSean Jackson sat out practice on Thursday.
It appears McNabb, who suffered a broken rib in Week 1, will sit out this weekend making way for Michael Vick to play on Sunday. Westbrook is working through an ankle injury, while Jackson has a sore groin. Both players missed practice for the second consecutive day, leaving their status for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs unknown.

With Donovan McNabb listed as doubtful for the Philadelphia Eagles Week 2 game against the New Orleans Saints, Kevin Kolb will likely start for the team at quarterback. The 26-year-old out of the University of Houston has played in eight games during his three years with the Eagles.
In those eight games, Kolb is 24-for-45 for 167 yards and four interceptions. To say that he has gotten off to a slow start in his NFL career would be an understatement.
McNabb, who broke a rib in Week 1 against the Carolina Panthers, could miss multiple weeks. If he does, there will be …read more

After Week 1 of the 2009 NFL season, the power rankings of the best teams in the league is easier to determine. Here’s a look at the 2009 NFL power rankings heading into Week 2:
1. Pittsburgh Steelers
Although their running game needs some work, the Steelers looked strong in Week 1 and should be considered the favorites for the time being.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
The Donovan McNabb injury is worrisome but the Eagles were scary good to begin the 2009 NFL season as they dismantled the Panthers.
3. New York Giants
The Giants looked strong and Eli Manning appears to have enough receiving options to …read more
Brian Westbrook Back at Practice

On Saturday, most eyes during practice for the Philadelphia Eagles were on Michael Vick. It seemed like every step Vick took was documented by onlookers. However, there was bigger news on the practice field — the return of running back Brian Westbrook.
Over the last few years, Westbrook has emerged as one of the best running backs in the NFL. Although he doesn’t have great size, he’s a smart player who uses his quickness, instincts and great hands to make big plays.
Last year, Westbrook had 936 yards rushing, 402 yards receiving and a total of 14 touchdowns. In 2007, he was …read more
Jon Runyan is Looking for a Team

Jon Runyan, the offensive tackle who played right tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, has been cleared to start running after having microfracture surgery in February. Although the Eagles released him during the offseason, there’s still a chance that he stays in Philadelphia.
The 35-year-old who played his college football at Michigan has played 192 consecutive games in the NFL. It appears as if that streak will continue — as long as he finds a job.
Once he shows that he’s healthy, expect a team to take a chance on him. He’s 6-foot-7 and 330 pounds and is still considered an …read more
Warrick Dunn to the Philadelphia Eagles?

Warrick Dunn is currently a free agent and it appears as if he’s not ready to call it a career. One team that makes sense as a destination for Dunn is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brian Westbrook is Philadelphia’s starter at running back but he’s had a couple of offseason surgeries and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be 100% for the season opener. Westbrook is a great running back however he will always be injury-prone.
Backing up Westbrook is LeSean McCoy. He’s a rookie who seems to have a bright future but if Westbrook’s status is in doubt, the Eagles will want more …read more
