If you’ve been wallowing in technical problems and didn’t pay attention to gaming news for a week like me, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised over this update. You see, Bioshock has new downloadable content for PC and Xbox 360 gamers. The content includes new Plasmids and Tonics, achievements, interface upgrades, and is now available as free downloadable content from Xbox Live Marketplace and as part of a PC patch.
Does this mean we get new types of enemies? Aside from the motion-sickness I got from playing too much, I was also nauseated by the limited number of enemies throughout the game. [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

Honestly, I have yet to finish Bioshock because I can’t stand to whack the same Splicer for over 10 hours.

If you can relate with my gripes, then be prepared to be disappointed because the DLC only includes:

Four Plasmids and Gene Tonics:

Sonic Boom: Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force;

EVE saver: Enables Plasmids to use less EVE;

Vending Expert: Reduces prices in the vending machines;

Machine Buster: Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets.

Achievements (exclusive to Xbox 360):

Xbox 360 players can gain 100 points for “Brass Balls,” by beating Bioshock on the “hard” difficulty setting without dying.

You’ll be happy to hear that Bioshock now has a widescreen option, but there are a bunch of other fixes that are listed. The Xbox 360 update will be automatically applied at the game’s startup when users log into Xbox Live. PC owners can get the patch here.

So Bioshock gives me a headache when I play for long periods. I can still enjoy it for a couple of hours, right? I take in the twisted art deco, the awesome eye candy, and the superior audio for 120 minutes or so, then log out happy, right?

Taking in the atmosphere may put a grin on my face, but the visit to Rapture can get really tedious because you can fight only so much bad guys before you notice that there’s not much variety in the antagonists you encounter.

You have a few splicers, two types of big daddies (that look pretty much the same), a bunch of little sisters that you can’t tell apart from each other, and a few freakish stage bosses that are too far in between that somehow remind you of the splicers.

That’s pretty much it.<o></o>

Can’t I have ninjas? Ninjas are always cool. How about bears that shoot lasers out of its eyes? Nevermind that these types of enemies have nothing to do with Rapture or Plasmids. Hardly anyone pays attention to FPS storylines anyway.
