Plaxico Burress is headed to prison for two years thanks to pleading guilty to a gun charge in New York. Burress faced at least three and a half years in prison if he would have taken the case to trial.
While Burress could be eligible to get out of prison in 20 months, his NFL football career may be over. The 32-year-old will miss the next two NFL seasons and then may face an additional suspension after his release. Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress is reportedly drawing interest from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to the report by Steve Wyche on NFL.com, the Bucs likely contacted Burress’ agent Drew Rosenhaus.

So… remember when Plaxico Burress shot himself (accidentally) in the leg back in November? He was out partying, inexplicably took out his gun and in doing so shot himself in the leg. Anywho, he couldn’t play after that (obviously) and then was released by the Giants last week.

On Friday, Plaxico Burress was released by the New York Giants. On Saturday, Burress was in Detroit as he cheered on Michigan State in the Final Four. With Burress leading the cheers, Michigan State won and is heading to the title game.

Plaxico Burress, the lanky and talented wide receiver for the New York Giants, shot himself in the foot on Friday night. Burress was admitted into the hospital but was released on Saturday afternoon.
