Small Businesses Still Tightening Labor

Small businesses are still tightening their belt when it comes to labor and hiring. According to the PNC Economic Outlook survey’s newest findings, six out of 10 U.S. small and mid-sized business owners are considering belt-tightening actions related to their hiring and labor force during the next six months, even if they’re cautiously optimistic about sales and profits.
The goal of the PNC small business survey was to gauges the mood and sentiment. The study found one-quarter (25 percent) are pessimistic about their own company’s prospects, this is down (a good thing) from 36 percent in the spring.
