Poker After Dark: Ivey vs. Farha

Poker After Dark never quite leaves me satisfied serious poker is being played. It feels too forced, like the players are only playing because they’re getting a ridiculous amount of money (go figure). Anyways, in this hand Sammy gets mixed up with Phil Ivey and Ivey catches a lucky Queen on the river to make a full house. Both had great hands after the flop with Ivey hitting a set of sixes and Sammy with a made straight and potential flush (technically it was a potential straight flush but Ivey had the 6s so it couldn’t have …read more
Poker After Dark Cash Game on Pokertube
For those of you like me who’ve seen every episode of High Stakes Poker enough times to know every hand backwards and forwards (I’m a dork, I know), they’ve now posted video from the week Poker After Dark turned into a cash game format, which if you ask me, was way better than their usual tournament style broadcast.
Here’s part one, all four parts are available linked from it on Pokertube, including Howard Lederer, Doyle Brunson, Patrik Antonius, and more:
When will there be another poker cash game show? I know the next season of High Stakes is on its way, but …read more
Poker After Dark 3
Yeah, they’re already on their 3rd season of Poker After Dark. I do enjoy this show usually, depending on who they have on. This third season looks like it’s going to be a little more varied than what we’ve seen so far, bringing in some new faces that have had a little camera time, but not much (including Sam Grizzle, known for once having actually punched Phil Hellmuth in the face).
Here’s a line-up of some of what’s to come.
Match 21: Dream Table (Week of December 31)
Seat 1: Daniel Negreanu
Seat 2: Phil Hellmuth
Seat 3: Jennifer Harman
Seat 4: Mike Matusow
Seat 5: Scotty …read more
This Week’s Poker After Dark
This week may mark the most annoying broadcast of poker I’ve ever seen. It’s mainly annoying because of Phil Hellmuth, which is new for me because I’ve always been one to support him despite the massive influx of people who think he’s annoying. I personally used to like his style and could feel for him when he’d play perfect poker and donks would still suck out. I liked the baby show.
But now success has gone so far to this man’s head that he can hardly speak without congratulating himself. It’s not cute anymore, it just makes him look like a …read more
This Week’s Poker After Dark
Pretty decent lineup for this week’s Poker After Dark, if you’ve been paying attention.
Daniel Negreanu, Mike Mizrachi, Howard Lederer, Tuan Le, Gus Hansen and Erick Lindgren. Table full of loons.
This show varies pretty widely in its quality depending on who’s playing but that’s a pretty much guaranteed lineup for interesting play.
2 AM on NBC.
