NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

Vick was once touted as the advertising campaign of the NFL. Not any more!

Michael Vick has gone where no football player has gone before.

His five year mission is to totally destroy a once promising career.

Dare you ask where the 5 years comes from?

Did the Squibster make such stuff up to be just like Star Trek (the Original, where Kirk gets all the babes)?

No.

Vick tested positive for smoking dope or Vick is positively a dope? Can’t remember which.

This kind of ticked off the Judge and Judges are the wrong people to tick off.

The disgraced Atlanta Falcons quarterback tested positive for marijuana earlier this month, a violation of the conditions of his release as he awaits sentencing in federal court on a dogfighting charge that already jeopardizes his freedom and career.

Now, he’s incurred the ire of the judge who could sentence him to up to five years in prison in the dogfighting case. On the day of Vick’s guilty plea, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson warned that he wouldn’t be amused by any additional trouble. source

The litany of Vick escapades exposed this week is getting rather long.

So when Vick was indicted Tuesday on state dogfighting charges that largely matched the federal charges to which he has already pleaded guilty, some might have felt it was overkill. The same day, the precarious condition of Vick’s finances was exposed when a bank sued him for $2.3 million he borrowed for real estate investments.

And then, at what was billed as a nationally televised town forum on the whole Vick debate, only a few hundred of his supporters bothered to show up to defend him in the very city where he played football. source

If Vick does not get 5 years, but does get one year of prison time to work on his game and then Goodell suspends him for another year and then gets 4 more games for the positive drug test, well… what owner what even want him? Maybe none in the NFL.

This just opens the door for future dancing champion Mark Cuban, better known as everyone’s favorite owner, except maybe to David Stern, the diminutive power broker of the NBA.

Put those two things together, and that means Vick’s shot at playing in the 2009 NFL season is likely gone, too.

Now that doesn’t mean there won’t be options for Vick when his sentence is up. Can’t you see Vick playing for Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban in that new United Football League once he’s out of federal prison? This new league, one that plans to play Friday nights in the fall of 2008, could use a star of Vick’s stature regardless of his background. This league has a lot of big-money owners and supporters, including Google executive Tim Armstrong. source

In fact, Mark Cuban is probably drooling at the prospect of landing Michael Vick.

Anyway, Arthur Blank is not going to let him play in Atlanta and most likely the whole league is done with the Michael Vick experiment.

It is just a wait and see, to find out how much time Vick will serve.

It is time for this story to go away.

Dope smoking dog torturers? Thought the mellow weed made you mellow?

Hey, just what was in that water bottle at the airport?

NFL Football Fan Question The league needs a new star to market with Peyton Manning saturating the airwaves and Vick on the outs. Who will that be?

As always, any NFL Football related comments are welcome.
