Stafford isn’t the only play privately visiting Detroit. According to reports, Josh Freeman of Kansas also has a visit coming up with the Lions, and after this week’s USC pro day, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mark Sanchez is invited for a visit as well.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that the Lions will even have the number one pick come draft day. Some (including me) think it would be a better choice for the team to trade their pick for more later-round picks or other perks. After all, they have another pick later in the first round.

Stafford Works Out with Lions Today

Remember him? You know, the Heisman trophy winning QB from The Ohio State University and the last pick in the 5th round of the NFL draft. James Walker of ESPN.com is reporting that Troy Smith is the favorite to win the starting job for the Ravens so far. Not surprising (and I’m not saying this because I’m a Buckeye fan) since Kyle Boller seems to have had his shot and Joe Flacco is a rookie. It is sometimes good to sit out your first season and learn.

Who knows if Smith will start the opener against the Cincinnati Bengals and if he’ll keep that starting job all season but the Buckeye fan in me is rooting for him. And even though him and the rest of the Buckeyes got pummeled by Florida that year (not as fresh in my mind though thanks to the pummeling done by LSU last season) he ended last season as the starter and had a great spring. Lets see if he can have a great fall.

Favorite For Ravens Starting QB? Troy Smith

ESPN is reporting that the New York Jets obtained permission to speak to Brett Favre. Brett Favre a Jet? Brett Favre in New York? Yes the media loves him now but what happens when all those interceptions follow him? Will the New York Media love him then. Of course he could not go to New York and has a slight chance of ending up in Tampa Bay. We all know how much John Gruden loves quarterbacks.

But then again, he could just end up back in Green Bay like all of this never happened. Sources are saying that he has decided to go to the Packers training camp. Don’t believe? Cue the video.
