Patriots, Giants, and Dolphins talk draft

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
JaMarcus Russell – very expensive number 1 pick
Build your lines.
Get your quarterback.
That is the plan.
The plan can take you to the Super Bowl.
It seems simple, but it is not. This is the formula that the New England Patriots followed, as well as the New York Giants, and San Diego Chargers. Green Bay was a little different, because 38 year old Brett Favre has been around much longer than any of the linemen.
In order to follow this plan, you need a great talent evaluator.
That person has to be backed up …read more

Randy Moss will take no loss

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Randy Moss hauls in another TD
This is Randy Moss from Marshall in the MAC conference.
We thought he might not be quite as good in the NFL as he was eating everyone’s lunch in the Mid American. Turns out we were wrong.
We thought that he was kind of lazy and selfish with the Vikings, even though at times, when he wanted to be, Randy Moss was just unstoppable.
As a Lions fan, it was tough to watch the Vikings come into town, often with a different quarterback, but the same result. …read more

Santa helps LT, Favre, Brady, Manning

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Santa has revealed some of his Christmas gifts.
For the Patriots – a victory against the Giants to go undefeated.
For the Colts – another commercial opportunity for Peyton Manning.
For the Packers – one more shot at a ring for Brett Favre.
For the Raiders – the beginnng of the JaMarcus Russell era.
For the Chargers – a clear shot at the rushing title for LaDainian Tomlinson.
For the Lions – the most victories in one season under Matt Millen with 7 and a shot at a .500 season (one incredible gift).
For the Cowboys – …read more

Randy Moss – we were all wrong

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.

As a Viking, Randy Moss had few peers.
With Daunte Culpepper throwing long bombs and Randy running under them, life was good.
Then the rumors started, well, more than rumors. Randy does not put out on every play. If he is not getting the ball, then he does not care about the play what so ever.
You watched him on TV after that with a critical eye. Randy was ruined.
When Moss

Chargers charged by Raiders runs

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Be sure to check out my companion blog at NBA Obsessed.
LT says all fancy running will be done by him, not the Raiders

LT is the greatest!
But not this year. At least so far. And now the Raiders are in town.
Marty ball is gone from the Chargers and Norv Turner has brought in a more complex system that everyone is still adapting to and trying to make work.
And if there is one Charger that has to have mixed emotions about this upcoming Raider game that would be Coach Norv …read more

Larry Johnson has failed me

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Larry needs more touchdowns!
You know we all have this habit and we learn it in high school physics.
Well, some of us learn this habit as a baby when we first sit up and Daddy rolls a brightly colored ball towards us.
What is the habit?
A body in motion tends to stay in motion.
Huh?
Think about it. When gas prices rise, then in your heads they are always going to rise. When stocks keep going up, you finally buy, because they are going to continue up. When your luck is …read more

Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions dream of another victory

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Calvin Johnson – Megatron lopes down the field
It is a world filled with madness.
It is a world gone bonkers.
The Detroit Lions are undefeated and dreaming of victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
This would be no small feat. In fact, it may take the rather large feet of Roy Williams and Calvin “Megatron” Johnson to pull it off.
This creates numerous problems for us fans. We have no way of coping with winning. Losing is our private little world and we are proud of it.
No way does a …read more

JaMarcus Russell sits on his butt and hits the jackpot

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
JaMarcus Russell has all the tools and now all the money to go with it!

Evidently when you are wanted you are wanted.
What a joke. Without even playing a single down in the NFL, JaMarcus Russell will walk off with a fortune.
Who does he think he is, Tiger Woods?
Without making 1 touchdown pass or proving he can win, JaMarcus Russell will sign an unbelievable record rookie contract.
Who does he think he is, LeBron James?
The final contract needs to be approved by the NFL, but it will be worth

Brady Quinn, in a travesty, will not start for the Browns

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
Put on a Browns uniform and you may see this sight in Cleveland for a long time
Ok, the headline actually said who would start for the Browns, but it was not Brady Quinn.
The fans are ready to lynch Coach Romeo Crennel
One fan said: There is nothing like aiming for mediocrity.
Another fan remarked: this is why romeo crennell is the worst coach in football, and why the browns are always one of the worst teams. regardless of how long brady quinn missed in training camp he outplayed the guys that were …read more

Vick, Culpepper, Quinn, Favre, Marbury – Part II – which one does not fit?

NFL Football at its best. NFL Football at its craziest.
If you missed part 1, you can catch it at Vick, Culpepper, Quinn, Favre, Marbury – Part I – which one does not fit?
Stephon Marbury has backed off
Let’s move to that 3 ring circus called Oakland, where we find the search for the Quarterback feverishly going on.
We all know that JaMarcus Russell is going to start at quarterback, right?
Oops, Oakland forgot to get his signature on a contract.
Lane Kiffen from USC is the new coach and his old boss, Pete Carroll, is not too happy.
“This is not helping the kid’s …read more
