Sam Cassell Retires, Joins Wizards Staff

After being a late first round pick in the 1993 NBA Draft, not much was expected out of Sam Cassell. But the point guard out of Florida State with the massive amount of confidence more than made a name for himself. Cassell had a great career — but now it’s over.
On Thursday, Cassell retired from the NBA and took a job with the Washington Wizards to become an assistant coach. The Wizards also hired Randy Wittman on Thursday as an assistant coach. Both Cassell and Wittman will be on new head coach Flip Saunders staff.

Eddie Jordan, Washington Wizards
In the last few seasons, Eddie Jordan has been able to turn water into wine. This season, it appears he has run out of magic. With Gilbert Arenas out after undergoing his 345th knee surgery, Jordan’s Wizards look lethargic. It’d be best for both parties if Jordan got fired. He’ll be a coach again but these Wizards need a spark.
