Resistance ending is not satisfying
I’ve finally gotten around to finishing Resistance: Fall of Man, thanks to the latest FragFX firmware. Buttons no longer bleed into each other so the shooting doesn’t devolve into an exercise in frustration. There’s much to be desired about the game’s ending, though.
The ending is made up of a short narrative, a rather long list of credits, and one quick cutscene showing the fate of Sergeant Nathan Hale. The video you see above is the quick cutscene after the credits.
Play Resistance using a keyboard and mouse
Remember the FragFX? It’s that awesome PS3 peripheral I was raving about. Yes, with such a gadget, playing console FPSes would be a cinch because the controls would be similar to the PC’s keyboard and mouse combo. Yes, no more lame analog-stick aiming. What if I told you that you can do the setup yourself? Be warned: it’s not easy. You need knowledge of electronics, PIC programming, and C++.
Still want to know how? Then watch the video after the jump.
Sony files trademark for “Resistance 2”
Sony filed a new trademark, and it’s not for “PlayStation 4.” Instead, the trademark is for “Resistance 2,” which is expected to be the sequel to the PlayStation 3’s best-selling title so far. Bet you weren’t surprised.
We saw this coming light years away. Aside from the recent buzz, cash cows franchises aren’t new to the industry so a sequel to Resistance: Fall of Man makes perfect sense.
Is Sony planning on angering another European church? Who knows? After all, SCEA’s spat with the Church of England certainly helped sell a few thousand copies, so the Resistance franchise could use this as …read more
My first foray into the PS3 and its shooters
Having other gamer friends has its perks. For one, they have no social lives (like moi), so they’re always at home playing. Second, they own ALL game consoles known to man (unlike moi). It just so happened that a friend of mine fits both descriptions.
Yes, he does own an Xbox 360 too, but it’s busted.
I finally got a chance to play his spanking new Playstation 3, and boy, was it an experience. Unfortunately, we had to make do with a standard definition TV, but it never made the romp less fun.
Church of England blasts Sony for PS3 shooter
Once again, Sony has drawn anger over the PlayStation 3. This time, the group frothing at the mouth is the Church of England. The reason? Resistance: Fall of Man, the only good FPS to date that came out of Sony’s already-controversial console.
The Church of England is pissed at Sony for using the Manchester Cathedral as the setting of a mission in said shooter, and that Sony didn’t seek permission to use the cathedral in the game. The Church said it’s is considering legal action if Sony doesn’t say sorry, withdraw the game from store shelves, or modify the mission …read more
