At least, on Terrell’s side of things. Rodney seemed to start things by calling Terrell a clown. He said he’s only interested in his own stats and not whether his team wins or loses.

After Terrell gave a press conference following the Bills loss to New Orleans on Sunday, Rodney reiterated his original “he’s a clown” response. T.O. for his part, was short and grumpy (to put it mildly) that his streak of 185 consecutive games with a catch came crashing to a halt. You can’t really blame him, that’s a long time and impressive record. Still, there’s no room in today’s sports for a grumble bunny who stands at the podium and refuses to act straight.

T.O. was determined to have the last word with Rodney, and did it via his Twitter account. USA Today reports that he said:

“I could less about Rodney Harrison! Anybody tht using steroids, yes STEROIDS rodney, is a cheater & cheated the game! … Is tht Y u used steroids b/c u were worried about ur stats or ws it b/c u were losing it? Lol! U’re a loser & a cheater? Got any steroid … Hey rodney! Send me sum steroids 2 the Bills facility next week!”

Ouch.

Will this feud continue?

The 36-year-old safety had a very successful run since he broke into the league with the San Diego Chargers in 1994. After playing with the Chargers until 2002, he joined the Patriots. Throughout his career, he was a physical player who was never afraid of pushing the rules to their limits. While some said Harrison was a dirty player, no one said that he didn’t play hard. And while he probably won’t make the Hall of Fame, he’ll at the very least go down as a memorable player.

The Patriots will miss him but it might end up better for New England in the long run. Since 2005, Harrison hasn’t been able to play more than 12 games in a season. With injuries slowing him down, he was no longer a dependable asset.
