Mobispine acquires NewsAlloy

Mobile Internet aggregator Mobispine AB has acquired Web based feed reader NewsAlloy. The acquisition seems to be aimed at providing users a seamless product that can be viewed both on the mobile phones and PCs.
Acquisition is an interesting word. Often we hear mergers and acquisition. But when one hears the word acquisition it has very different meaning. Merger means the joining of two or more companies while acquisition means the purchase of one company by another.
Nothing negative really. It just implies the direction the two companies are going to take. And
Mobispine, which now has 300,000 plus active mobile users per …read more

Search to RSS with FeedMySearch

When I saw FeedMySearch I was intrigued and this is because it was a like seeing a familiar dog that was made more presentable. Correct me if I am wrong but Google already has this option… then again FeedMySearch makes things more simpler and that is where it counts.
FeedMYSearch will take your Google search and convert it into an RSS feed. You can even specify the type of search based on:
Web
news
videos
blogs
local
books
images
patents
You can do this with Goggle using Google News Alert. I have and I still am doing it. My impression on FeedMySearch is that it does …read more

IM Feeds a useful tool

In my opinion. Although still in beta the service IM Feeds is potentially a useful RSS tool. Why is this? Well … first things first lets introduce IM Feeds. It is a free online service that sends RSS updates to the punter via Instant Messenger/Messaging (IM).
Of course one can also visit their website to read the feeds but this feature seems to distract it from its main service. It delivers updates via IM and that is important. And this can be particularly useful for managing feeds.
Why?
No need to go back and forth to the feed reader to …read more

FeedBooks is interesting because

There are two main things that makes Feedbooks interesting. The France-based company provides e-books for free in several formats and it allows you to read an RSS feed in PDF format.
It is not limited to searching and downloading e-books in different formats but FeedBooks also allows users to publish their work. Ready for the downloadable in several formats. This is cool.
This is just the first main thing that FeedBook offers. The other thing or feature or services that FeedBook offers is that it allows users to read their favorite RSS feeds in PDF formats. All you have to do is …read more

This is a nice one and so easy to use. Ajax Dynamic Feed Control from Google lets you place a number of feeds on your blog or website. And is all done in three easy steps:
1. Pick a style and a name for your display
One can choose from vertical, vertical stacked and horizontal display. The name for the display is up to you: One can name it my other blogs or those that cannot be mentioned but are here. It is for the punter to choose.
2. Type in a feed expression
Feed expressions could be tags, categories or more …read more

What is up ReadBurner?

A lot it seems. Louis Gray chronicles it here. A run down of what the new management, Drew Olanoff, Thomas Connors and Adam Ostrow, is doing is nothing short of impressive.
Consider the following things done or implemented or introduced:
1. A new site interface
2. a breaking news page
3. a Breaking news feed on Twitter
4. a ReadBurner weekly podcast.
5. and support for Netvibes.
6. Widgets
Read the post.
What is interesting is that the competition seems to be heating up with RSSmeme.
And its a good thing because the good features/service comes out faster. As the rivals try to out do or one up the …read more
