Raven Squad Screenshots

Raven Squad is a FPS [first person shooter] meets RTS [real time strategy] meets badass mercenaries.
The game promises “dominantly story driven objectives”. So, from what I’ve read, they’re promising a FPS, RTS and RPG [role-playing game] all rolled into one game? That should be a hoot-if they can pull it off. Oh, and there’s multi-player.
From the release:

Set in the Amazon in the year 2011, players will experience lush jungle visuals, haunting ambient sounds, changes in the weather, and an enemy in their home element
Featuring the best of both worlds, Raven Squad has core FPS and RTS gameplay combined, for …read more

Command & Conquer 3:Tiberium Wars & Hamachi Are A Perfect Match

After more than a year of release, I finally played Command & Conquer 3:Tiberium Wars with my buddy over the internet. Using Hamachi, a zero-configuration virtual private network (VPN) freeware, we are able to play via the router and through firewalls in a stimulated LAN setting.
The whole process is quick, smooth and easy. Highly recommended.

Former WCG StarCraft Champion Nabbed For Break-In, Even Zergs Can’t Help

Former World Cyber Games (WCG) StarCraft: Brood War 2003 Korean champion Lee Yong Bum (ogogo) was nabbed for breaking into an advertising company and looted more than $18k of video equipment last year. Prior to this, Lee had stolen a handphone in his high school and robbed a rental van driver.
In his account to the police, the retired Zerg pro said he has suffered enormous stress due to long training hours and mediocre results during his pro-gaming days. Has instant StarCraft fame and failure get the better of him? We really don’t know.

Why Korea Is So Into StarCraft & PC Gaming…

In an interview with GameAxis, Korea pro-gaming CounterStrike (CS) team, Lunatic-Hai, revealed why Korea is so obsessed with PC gaming and StarCraft and don’t give a damn to video game consoles. An interesting read for inspiring pro-gamers.

Well it’s the same everywhere. When we first started off our parents naturally said things like: “Why don’t you do normal sports?” Some even go to extremes like hiding computers or throwing them out of windows, so yeah we totally understand how struggling pro-gamers must feel in Singapore. After a while though we were featured in magazines and on television, managed to earn some …read more

JJ Lin Becomes Samsung’s Youth Ambassador, Promotes Gaming Culture Among Singapore Youth

JJ Lin, Lin Junjie or 林俊杰, is Samsung’s youth ambassador and he has the job to sing, dance, promote and play in the Asian leg of World Cyber Games (WCG) in August. As an enthu gamer, JJ will display his DOTA (Defence of The Ancients Allstars) skills in the event. If all else fails, JJ can croon a few songs from Westside, his new album.
Actually the gaming culture among Singapore teens and kids is pretty healthy but pro-gaming is still not in the list of well-recognized professional jobs in Singapore. No mummy in Singapore will tell their kids to go …read more

StarCraft 2008?

This is just another keep-you-excited-for-a-moment rumour. Blizzard may just bring a surprise to StarCraft’s fans next year…a StarCraft 2008 game.
Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard, recently mentioned, “I’m a StarCraft player myself and I hope it’s not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I’m standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series.”
