Ryan Moats to Start for the Texans

Steve Slaton began the year as an up-and-coming star for the Houston Texans at running back. But after seven fumbles, Slaton has lost his job to Ryan Moats.
In Week 9 of the 2009 NFL season, Moats will make his first start. Last week, he had 126 rushing yards and a franchise record three rushing touchdowns. Slaton, on the other hand, was benched after yet another fumble.
Last year, Slaton rushed for 1,282 yards and had 377 receiving yards. He also had nine rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. This year, Slaton has 342 rushing yards, 314 receiving yards and a total …read more

Officer Resigns After Pulling Over Moats

Remember that whole ugly incident of the Dallas Police Officer who pulled over Ryan Moats as he rushed to his mother-in-law’s dying bedside?

He has now retired from the police force. The Dallas Mayor agrees that this was a good thing, saying, “What we’ve seen in the last week or so is not what we want to come out of the city of Dallas.”
The officer reportedly still wants to speak with the Moats family to talk about his regret in doing so. I hope the family lets him do that. I think it will bring some closure to …read more

Ryan Moats Video – Racist Police?

Ryan Moats of the Houston Texans was recently involved in a unfortunate situation with a Dallas police officer by the name of Robert Powell. You can see video of the incident at the bottom of this entry.
Moats was with his wife and other family members as they were rushing to the hospital to see the wife’s dying mother. With Moats behind the wheel, he rolled through a red light during his rush. Officer Powell pulled Moats over and that’s when the unfortunate incident began.
Instead of allowing Moats to rush to the bedside of his dying mother-in-law, he stalled for nearly …read more

Dallas Police Pull a Gun on Ryan Moats

Police in Dallas are apologizing for one of their offices pulling out a gun in front of a hospital when they pulled over 26-year old Ryan Moats. Moats is a running back in the NFL, and was headed to the hospital to see his dying mother-in-law. He ran a stop light, and when the cop pulled him over he gave Moats the third degree.

Normally, I’d say the whole “gotta get to the hospital” is a worn out excuse, except that this time the guy was really at the hospital! It was obvious he wasn’t lying.
Moats’ wife, Tamishia, …read more
