Volvo, I would assume, would be nervous in such an undertaking. Their legendary design and safety ratings have made Volvo a favorite car for some loyal customers. The deal is worth an estimated $20 billion and could get Ford out of the hole and remain afloat a little longer.

Careful planning and innovative cars have kept Ford afloat during the recent recession. But they still need to cut to remain on a competitive edge. Volvo was just one of those pet projects they could no longer afford to keep.

Geely has been able to emerge competitively internationally by designing cars that are more affordable and innovative. They also seem to be better equipped to tackle the growing demand for cheaper, safer, reliable and more fuel efficient cars.

The house that Sam built has dropped the Magnavox NB500MGX Blu-Ray/DVD combo player to the rock bottom, record setting price of just $128.

There’s a catch: you can’t buy it online.

If you’ve been wrestling with the should-I-or-shouldn’t-I? debate of upgrading the ol’ DVD player to a Blu-Ray player, Walmart has reportedly made your decision an eentsy bit easier. The house that Sam built has dropped the Magnavox NB500MGX Blu-Ray/DVD combo player to the rock bottom, record setting price of just $128.

There’s a catch: you can’t buy it online. You have to leave the house, drive down to your local Walmart (which, let’s face it, is probably less than 300 feet away — right between McDonald’s and Starbucks), and buy it there. Online ordering nets you the player for $168, and I’m guessing a $40 savings is worth a quick trip down to Wally World. Am I right?

Either way, it’s unheard of to find a Blu-Ray player for under $200, and this same player is currently listed at Amazon.com for $360, which puts Walmart’s price almost two-thirds off!

Panic Software, makers of popular Mac software such as Transmit and Coda is having a 3 day sale. Transmit, Coda, CandyBar and Unison are 50% off. The sale period is from 12:01 AM PST May 27th to 11:59 PM PST May 29th.

I took this opportunity to buy Coda. I’ve tried this out before and generally like this software except for the $99 price tag that it carries. So now with the chance to buy it for $49.50, I snapped it up.
Hurry Mac users and avail of the 3 day sale!

Black Friday is one of the biggest sales in the United States. Traditionally retailers offer big discounts on items during his day. People line up very early for the chance to shop for big discounts.
Apple has been traditionally conservative during this day. Offering discounts but nothing spectacular. According to the AppleInsider report, Barclays Capital expects Apple to be more aggressive in its sale. Will this come true? I’m hoping it does but I’m not holding my breath.

Apple has been traditionally conservative during this day. Offering discounts but nothing spectacular. According to the AppleInsider report, Barclays Capital expects Apple to be more aggressive in its sale. Will this come true? I’m hoping it does but I’m not holding my breath.

Apple distinguishes itself by being a premium brand and I think dragging down the price too much will go against their strategy. Sure times are tough but Apple is still enjoying good sales and I think people are really willing to pay value for money. However I don’t mind being wrong. Not when Apple stuff on the cheap will be available. Let’s wait and see.
