Metroid Quarantine: Samus Aran and her universe in Lego
Dangnabit! The title is a dead giveaway! Well, I\’d like you to take a gander at the image below:\r\n\r\n
\r\n\r\nPretty little Lego spaceship, eh? It\’s actually a model of Samus Aran\’s gunship in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and is part of a collection of images on Flickr known as Metroid Quarantine. The collection of Metroid-related pictures is but the tip of the iceberg. The group also has a website known as (what else!) Metroid Quarantine, The Metroid Blog.\r\n\r\nGo check out Metroid Quarantine\’s other photos.\r\n\r\nOh, and if you\’re wondering what Samus Aran\’s gunship looks like in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, here\’s a …read more
Lego Metroid Prime trailer
Talk about fanaticism for both Metroid and Lego. This guy, FederArtsRamen, has recreated Metroid and Samus Aran’s Varia Suit’s shiny butt in Lego bricks—and it looks really cool. Watching the video makes me wish Lego and Nintendo would tie up to produce a line of, well, Metroid Lego. I’m sure it’ll be a hit.
Anyway, let me show you the video first:
Although the set or background needs work, you’ve got to admit that Samus and her ship rock.
I’m a big fan of Lego myself, having built wonderful models out of the colored bricks when I was, well, young … er. Here’s …read more
How to make Samus Aran out of Lego
First, I\’d like to clarify that this is not a reposting of How to make a Samus Aran sculpture out of Lego, which saw the light of digital day a couple of weeks ago on Re:Retro.\r\n\r\nWith that out of the way, we can now proceed with How to make Samus Aran out of Lego:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOf course, after viewing the video, you\’ve probably realized that the tutorial has nothing to do with Lego bricks but with creating a facsimile of Metroid\’s Samus Aran out of pieces of a, uhmm, Lego person.\r\n\r\nYou\’ve got to give the kid credit, though. He just showed us …read more
Watch Samus dance the Metroid
I almost feel sorry about posting this video of our favorite interstellar bounty hunter Samus Aran dancing to the beat of Usher’s Yeah after reading good friend PJ Punla’s comment on my most recent article on b5media technology blog MMOtaku titled Girl gamers gaining ground in MMOs.
The temptation, however, is hard to pass up, especially if you’ve seen Max Payne dance. Eerie and freaky.
So without further ado, I present you Metroid’s Samus Aran dancing to Usher’s Yeah:
Monty Oum’s Haloid: Samus Aran versus Master Chief
Monty Oum\\\\\\\’s short films and other works have been posted and re-posted on the Internet ad nauseum, but there\\\\\\\’s only one Monty Oum and we are amazed at power of his craft. That\\\\\\\’s not bad, considering the original high definition video posted by Monty Oum on GameTrailers, well, lags behind at 338,342 views.\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\nFor the benefit of those who don\\\\\\\’t know who Samus Aran and Master Chief are, and what the heck …read more
How to make a Samus Aran sculpture out of Lego
Ahhh, Samus, Samus, Samus—the video game babe who has captured the imagination of thousands of Metroid fans all over the world since 1986, primarily because most of her body is encased in full body armor. Actually, most guys (yes, even long-time video game players) don\\\’t know Samus is a woman.\\r\\n\\r\\nFor those grasping for answers, here\\\’s a little backgrounder on our futuristic video game babe:\\r\\n\\r\\n
Samus Aran is the main fictional character in Nintendo\\\’s Metroid series. Samus is a bounty hunter aiding the Galactic Federation to hunt down and defeat space pirates. Samus Aran wears a full body power suit given to …read more
I probably would’ve played Metroid
No, you\’re not misreading the title. It\’s not supposed to come out as a fragment, but part of the title of my previous posting, \”If only I had a Nintendo Family Computer Disk System …\”\r\n\r\nWhy Metroid? Well, I haven\’t played any of the Metroid games and my earliest Nintendo video game console (I mean, aside from the various Game & Watches I\’ve collected throughout the years), the Nintendo Family Computer, is the best, uhmm, medium. Besides, Metroid, the first game in the Metroid series, was first released for the Famicom Disk System, way back in August 1986. A well-deserved kudos …read more
