After bouncing around the NBA early in his professional career, Bowen eventually made a name for himself with the Spurs. In his eight years in San Antonio, the Spurs won three NBA championships — in 2003, 2005 and 2007. Known as a fantastic perimeter defender, Bowen also developed into a very good three-point shooter.

Even though he’s 38 years old, a number of teams have been said to be interested including the Boston Celtics and the Portland Trail Blazers. The Spurs may attempt to bring him back to San Antonio or Bowen may opt to retire.

On a night when surreal events appeared to be the norm, the 2009 NBA draft fit right in.
The fact that Michael Jackson passed away yesterday was beyond surreal. Add in Farrah Faucet and you’ve got a double-whammy. Then Shaq gets traded to Cleveland to team up with Lebron for what seems to be a destined championship run in 2010.
What else happened on draft night?
Here’s a brief recap for your viewing pleasure:
• Richard Jefferson was traded to San Antonio.
• Blake Griffin was the number one pick in the ’09 draft.
• Tyler Hansbrough went to the Indiana Pacers.

From CNN Money:

ZAP Electric Cars of San Antonio (http://www.zapcarsa.com), located at Loop 1604 and Stone Oak Parkway, is offering the Xebra®, a three-wheel, four-door compact car and two-seat pickup.
ZAP is growing by leaps and bounds. Even though their cars don’t reach top speeds, they’re recognized as a convenient car for many people’s day-to-day needs. Being affordable helps, but at the core is public interest fueling the demand.

The San Antonio dealership is owned by Tito Norris, a local orthodontist who was initially interested in owning a Xebra, but decided to open the dealership when he found there were no dealerships in the area. Norris thinks Texas, known for being an oil state, will be a receptive market for electric vehicles.

“The ZAP XEBRA was not designed as a replacement for gas cars but as an inexpensive alternative for the many short trips we all make everyday,” said Norris. “It’s more about conservation and saving money. These cars are perfect for around town driving and saving your gas car for when you need it. There are thousands of families, businesses and government agencies in Texas that could afford these electric vehicles today.”

The vehicles are priced a little over $10,000 and are estimated to cost between one and three cents per mile depending on your electrical rates. ZAP says an electric car can reduce fueling, maintenance and operating costs, and overall they are about half the cost of owning a gasoline car.
