The Saturn Sky debuted in 2007 as an alternative to the Pontiac Solstice. The new 2009 Saturn Sky Red Line is now their premium sports car with many added features and dependability only a Saturn car could offer.
When compared to the Pontiac Solstice it’s easy to be confused. Although created buy the same company, i.e. GM, there are a world of differences between them. However, instead of making this an essay on GM sports cars this will all be about the Sky.
The Sky Red Line doesn’t have a large engine but then again it won’t need it because at just 2.0L the …read more
Speed Run: Mortal Kombat 2 on Sega
It’s time once again for another speed run. This time we present to you Mortal Kombat 2 on a Sega featuring the wild antics of Shang Tsung. Check it out:
Sigh. It’s quite unfortunate, however, that like most speed runs, this speed run of Shang Tsung on Mortal Kombat 2 is tool assisted and played on an emulator. Ahh, but what the heck. It’s still fun watching a character beat up all his opponents from start to finish.
Next time, I’d like to see the player do it without the tool assist. :p
The History of Video Games in two minutes
I’m currently watching a video on the history of video games by YouTube user applemctom, and my wife, Joyce, keeps asking me why I know majority of the games featured in the video. I guess my video games addiction is finally showing, eh? To test my mettle, I tried to list down in order all the games shown in the two-minute footage. Unfortunately, I didn’t get them all. Before I show my list (rather, before you take a look at it), watch the video and try listing down in order all the games that you see. Let’s compare notes later.

Video game consoles, then and now
Did you know that there have been at least 63 video game consoles and personal computers in the past 50 years? Well, I didn’t … honestly. So imagine my surprise when I came across this video:
The author of this mish-mash, however, missed the entire Apple line of personal computers. I owned an Apple IIc, so I know first-hand that a lot of video games can be played on the machine—that is, if any Apple computer is still intact to this day.
Sonic X-Treme Demo Disc Sold!
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG…
I’m close to wetting my pants for the second time in 24 hours. As a huge Sonic fan you have no idea how stunned I was when I saw this land in my feed reader:
A man pays $2500 for the only playable version of the Sonic X-treme known to exist. This is hard core.
The story is on the front page of Digg, so it seems that this could be the real deal…
The only demo disc of Sonic X-Treme in existence.
Saturn Shenmue
Before it appeared on the Dreamcast Shenmue was originally in development for the Sega Saturn. This is an early tech demo, and is a surprising example of just what the Saturn was capable of, although it’s definitely for the best that it was released on the DC. I wonder how many CDs this game would have been released on if it came out on the Saturn…
Sonic X-Treme Revisited…
I don’t really mean revisited… None of us actually had the chance to play the game, but when Edge recently posted with details of Sonic X-Treme, the game that arguably doomed the Saturn which in turn jeopardised Sega’s future console success, I had to let you guys know.
Over the past month Chris Senn, art director, team coordinator, and eventually co-designer over the course of X-treme’s development cycle, has been unearthing and documenting all of the related ephemera from his days on the project on his home-site forums…
