Mo Cheeks Takes Coaching Job with Thunder

Mo Cheeks, the former head coach for both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Philadelphia 76ers, has accepted a coaching job with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Cheeks will serve as an assistant coach under head coach Scott Brooks.
As a head coach, Cheeks had a combined record of 284-286. After he was fired last season, the Sixers were able to battle back and qualify for the 2009 NBA Playoffs. In the postseason, they gave the Orlando Magic a run for their money in the first round.

Scott Brooks to Remain Coach of the Thunder

With the team at 1-13, the Oklahoma City Thunder fired P.J. Carlesimo and replaced hm with Scott Brooks. Since that point, the Thunder have gone 21-47. That improvement has earned Brooks the full-time gig as head coach at Oklahoma City. The announcement was made by Sam Presti, the general manager of the Thunder.
Prior to becoming the head coach of the Thunder, Brooks was an assistant coach in the NBA since 2003. He started with the Denver Nuggets, then moved on to the Sacramento Kings before ending up with the Thunder under Carlesimo.
